How to visit Hong Kong"Amazing!"
How I did it: I went as a stop over to a University trip to Europe. We were there for three days, but I am going back. I was an amazing experience. Booked tickets, got approval to travel to China (even thought Hong Kong is a SAR it is still part of the PRC, some nations/employers/situations may require approval). A friend booked accommodation. Bought a handy Lonely Planet city guide - very helpful. VISAS! A lot of nationalities need visas for stays of various lengths. It's best to check if you are not sure. The best website to check is the HK Immigration Department: http://www.immd.gov.hk/ehtml/hkvisas_4.htm
Lessons & tips: Buy a Octopus card, it makes traveling around so much easier. You can get a refund as you leave the Airport at the service desk for the cost of the card. When you arrive into the International Airport stick with you plans, if you decided to take the Train, take it. Bus? Then take that. The Taxi drivers that (illegally) rome the arrivals area will tell you the other forms of transport are much more expensive than they are.
Resources: Octopus card!

How I did it: Unlike previous holidays involving many months of planning and budgeting, a good friend of mine invited me on the spur of the moment and I said yes. It was my first overseas holiday with someone other than a family member, and it was great! Read how I did it…

How I did it: Wow! It definitely was an amazing holiday. The planning took 3 weeks and the trip itself was 4 days. AirAsia offered free tickets to Hong Kong which we booked for our first anniversary trip. Hong Kong Disneyland was the highlight of our trip. We tried out the food in Hong Kong (Which we also could find in Malaysia but it definitely did not taste the same) and did alot of sightseeing. Things were quite expensive even after the conversion =… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I went to Hong Kong for 11 days with my boyfriend and her family (his dad lives there). It was amazing!!!! I ate sooo much food and it was all worth it. however, the heat was crazy and I did start to really hate that. But it was jsut a great experience; the transportation, the people, the FOOD, and of course the interesting culture that emerges after British colonialism. Hong Kong is just amazing. How I did it: I was in Hong Kong for work and we had a meeting in one of the really nice high rises across from the old airport. I remember watching the planes fly in and out all day - can't remember what the meeting was even about! Read how I did it…
How I did it: My aunt and cousins took me with them on vacation. I had to get my passport and we applied for visas so we could go to china also. If your going soon overnight your passports so you can get it back on time. Read how I did it…

HK is a fantastic little place. during my recent overseas trip we stayed with a host family for four days. i saw Victoria Harbour, Stanley Markets (a bit of a disappointment for me), Disneyland (a pintsized Disneyland) and the Peak (leave a lot of time for this one). if you’re ever there you simply must try sweet soup and broccoli tastes particularly good with a cheese sauce with bits of ham. the museum is excellent and i recommend their gift shop! you’ll love it and totally want to go back.
It was amazing! I absolutely love this city. It was my first and last stop during my trip to China, and I had actually expected to dislike it, but I immediately fell in love with it. It’s so vibrant and alive all the time. It’s big and crowded and crazy, but it’s also got beautiful quiet areas, and everything’s really efficient. The contrasts just make it such an incredibly unique place- I’d recommend everyone visit it at least once. I know I’ll definitely be back there again someday :)
Preferably I want this goal to be part of my China tour. Hong Kong looks kinda not bad!
Brilliant place to visit the outlying islands are really good as is the Big Budda & Victoria Peak.
First, get a job. Then, pay off all my credit cards. Then, maybe go see Hongkong with James this year. Pray for the best.
Spending 7 days there hoping to see as much as possible, maybe even go over to Maccau to gamble a bit. Can’t wait!
and when i do i’m going to visit the great wall of china! =D
sounds fun!
xx.
I want to go to Hong Kong for at least a week and see as much as possible. I would like to get a new wardrobe made whilst I’m there
Visited, Visited again, and again, and again, so moved here and now taking the ferry to macao to keep my tourist visa going again, and again, and again
you don’t need a hkid to come live in hk, a passport is as good as a hkid for most businesses :)
No racism either (practically) only money counts in this city, what colour the hand that gives it is totally unimportant…
I can highly recommend it. Best city in the world.
Like someone started played simcity couple of decades ago and found the cheatcode. Lol ask anyone thats been here, best city in the world.
