and normally I’m not a big fan of Microsoft, but Windows 7 is cool and Windows 7 Release Candidate 1 is available free for download. It’s only valid until June 1, 2010 and starting 3 months prior, you’ll start getting annoying messages about it expiring.
But it is cool… The nice thing is that I’ve installed it on two older computers and it performs even better than Windows XP. One reason is “ReadyBoost” which allows you to use a flash drive for caching memory. This means Windows no longer has to write to your hard drive when trying to swap memory (flash drives are much faster than hard drives). But I really also like the new task bar. It’s a combination of the quick launch and task bar… No reason to have two different concepts when one will do. Of course, the special effects of seeing “through” your windows is cool, but unfortunately, my older computers are too slow to support this. Gadgets are cool, too. I also can’t wait to try it out on my pen-based computer, but not sure when I’ll get a chance to do that.
Official launch date is October 22.
I’m not even a cow…
Seems like they found that happy cows make better milk and cows really seem to like having their own personal electronic masseuse. Click on the image for the video.
NOW!
Not 10 years from now!
This is a look into the year 2019 courtesy of Microsoft:

I almost missed the point about shopping… You would have a shopping list and when you walk into the store, it would automatically sort your items by the layout of the store.
Supposedly real-time language translations are close to reality now… Would be very convenient for visitors from Japan who aren’t fluent in English to still be able to watch TV… (and vice versa when I go to Japan).
For those who are more into fifth-generation fighter jets available now…
but this is the Tazzari Zero, a plug-in car due out later this year (made in Italy):

but not with the help of hi-tech…! This toaster delivers the toast right to your plate.. Well, that is after a few dozen tries to get the right projection.

OK, this is only a concept product, but what’s next? A new way to prepare and serve tossed salads? Scrambled eggs?
What about a custom-made candlestick, goblet, or vase which is an inverse image of the person’s profile?

Practical..??? What does that have to do with anything?
