I’m hoping that a trip to Australia is in my near future… I ordered Bill Bryson’s In a Sunburned Country. Learning about the country is a good first step.

How to visit Australia

How I did it: I traveled with a student ambassador program during the summer. As this was an opportunity for a great learning experience that would also impress colleges, my parents were willing to shell out the rather large sum of money required. Lessons & tips: Be prepared for an extremely long bout of traveling - I had to take three flights there and three flights back; my total traveling time was around 46 hours just on a plane! (not including layovers, etc.)

How I did it: Bought a ticket to NZ, decided to tack on 2 weeks in Australia to boot. Flew into Sydney, took a bus to Bondi Beach immediately. Met fellow travelers, bought a bus ticket North. How I did it: I put my fears about the long flight and the $$$ aside and I went for it! After 10 years since my last visit, I felt that I would never get back. In the last year I realized what better time than now. I search for quotes on air, since we were staying with family some of the finacial burden was lifted. One of the most amazing experiences of my life! Got to work in Australia zoo as a volunteer, spent my 16th birthday abseiling down a mountain looking at one of the most spectacular views in the world! Held a little koala and petted kangaroos! Amazing experience and everthing i ever hoped for! I would go back tomorrow!

i don’t care how much money this requires – i will be doing it. my biology teacher was the person that kick started this lol. i’ve always wanted to do it but he heard me telling a friend and said “i’ve been, and i actually ask you to do it please”. so i am going to, thanks sir :D

I want to do this in the next few years as soon as I can afford to go. I will travel up the East coast from Sydney, stopping off places, then spend 2 weeks in or near Cairns. My brother was doing the east coast trip as part of a larger backpacking trip across Australia. He got to Fraser Island where he sadly died in an accident.
I want to see some of the things he saw as he was having an amazing time and also finish off the trip for him. I especially want to be on Fraser at the anniversary of his death and spend a couple of days there as he was so looking forward to going there.

okay, so one day i was thinking about what foreign country or continent i wanted to visit before i died! i was thinking about everywhere around the globe when i finally realized i forgot about australia! in an instant i knew thats where i wanted to visit one day… sydney probably… but i really want to see a kangaroo and a koala! THEY ARE SOOO ADORABLEEEE[: so yes before i die i definitley want to take a trip to the world down under.. LITERALLY! hahahah[:
