wear a fancy hat to the kentucky derby

I would have a hat with horses and flowers on it. It would be so cool to see all the people and awesome horses.

This year I watched the derby at home with my family. My daughter and I wore hats and we all drank out of silver cups. Pimms for the adults and fruit punch for the children. It was fun, but not the real thing.

a friend of mine once mentioned to me that she had had the opportunity to go to the kentucky derby, and that her favorite part of the experience was wearing the fancy hat that she had bought just for the occasion. i thought that just sounded so quirky and wonderful – it inspired me, i guess. and ever since then, i’ve wanted to go.
