As of today, Experian’s given me a score of 712 – not too shabby, but I know I can improve it if I pay down one of my card’s on which I’m currently carrying a high balance. This is going to be tough. So tempting to buy a new fall wardrobe!

How I did it: Not really sure how I did it since the ways of the scoring elude me, but somehow I managed to get that sucker to 810. I paid all my bills on time and in full every month.I have two credit cards - one of which I owe nothing on but keep open for emergencies. The other one is my regular use card that has the lower rate, and I pay more than the minimum due every month. Read how I did it…

As per a previous entry I’d like to break the 800 mark.
3 years ago I was in the bottom two percent of all FICO scores. Now I am almost at the national average and just paid 80 percent of all my credit card debt.
I wish there ws a mandatory class for high school seniors on how to handle credit. Maybe this would save a lot of other people from making my mistakes.
Best wishes to everyone with this goal.

A jump of 4 may be due to:
-recent changes in FICO calculations
-the fact that I paid off my car note early

I was surprised to find out that I have a high credit score on Equifax! Woo hoo! So, I’ve increased my credit to $3,000 and lately, I only have $60 on my credit card for Christmas presents. With the combination of saving money and bank account, my goal is to have a budget and increase my credit score.
