Spend more Quality time with my wife

We went back to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico for 5 days without the kids. We missed them, but it was so much fun to talk and walk and play without the interruptions! 10 years of marriage and she is my best friend. I was thinking the other day… I married her so I wouldn’t lose her and in the process fell more deeply in love with her than I ever knew I could. Julie is my soul and everything else fades away around her.

Sounds simple. It isn’t. Work, life, kids. All these things are great, but they get in the way.

I have to try some new tactics.

It used to be that nothing got in the way. Not sleeping, not eating, not class. She was most important. We were most important.

She still is. We still are…

I have to try some new tactics. Tell her how I feel. Show her how I feel.

Maybe I’ll sleep less. Nah…too grouchy.

Maybe I’ll work less. Hmmm…not a bad idea.

Maybe I’ll drive faster to get home. Haha! Sounds fun!

Maybe we can spend more time together when we’re really not together. This has possibilities…

When my wife an I met we would find time to sit and talk for hours, draw together, go on dates together and generally be together and focus on each other. Now, it seems the demands of work and kids and life rob us of much of our time and my wife and I rarely have a chance to enjoy each other’s company.
I would like to find a way to talk, play games together and generally enjoy each other’s company.
