explore the United States

I can’t say that I’m really a traveler by nature, I was raised pretty… locally. I grew up in a large small town, and visited San Francisco some, mostly once I was able to drive, though for a long time I was completely intimidated. Once I moved there, I had a greater desire to travel, and I did a bit. My husband and I drove from CA to New Mexico, to visit his family, and we had a blast. We also flew to Missouri, around Olivia’s birthday last year.

My favorite trip so far has to be my trip to Portland, Oregon. I went with a friend of mine, and luckily I have a few friends up there already. I got to visit with them, and “sight see” a little. We went to some wonderful streets, with beautiful stores, art galleries, and, well, culture that I’ve been lacking the last couple of years, having moved away from SF.

We’ve also been on a couple of road trips for my husbands work, up to Eureka, and Chico. I wasn’t too impressed, though I’m not sure how much I really got to see. Next I think I want to travel east to see what’s there. I can’t believe I’ve lived in California my whole life, and I’ve never been to Yosemite.

We got a car, so it’s a little more convenient, though I would like to bike across the bridge and go on an epic ride with Ezra… But we explored the Tamalpias-Marin Headlands area. I got to see the lighthouse, and some really cute places. I’ve been to Muir Woods before as a kid, so that wasn’t really necessary, but it sure was beautiful. We’re looking at a lot of different places in San Francisco as well for a wedding location. There are a TON of beautiful places to take photos, and we want something memorable. It’s only gonna happen once!

but i’m on a roll!

-New Jersey (from august to january, grew up partially here, and many many summer when i was a kid)
-Manhattan, NY (january, and held a job there for 3 months)
-Florida (grew up here)
-California (three months here as a camp counselor)

I’ve visited:
-Chicago
-New Orleans
-Atlanta
-Miami, Tampa, Orlando, most important cities in Florida
-West Virginia and most of North Virginia
-all states on the Eastern Seaboard
-Mobile, AL

I would love to not only travel, but also explore every crevice of the United States.
From Portland, ME to Key West, FL and from Atlanta, GA to San Francisco, CA and to Minneapolis, MN.
