finish decorating my room

Almost done! There is a small list of things to do, but essentially I am done. I am surprise at how energizing and inspiring this experience has been. Now it is all about decluttering and living lightly. Less stuff is better.

This week I finally got rid of the carpet and got a new laminate floor put in. And luckily the floor was 50% off, a very sweet deal. I have choosen a colour for the walls called Daystar. It’s a deepish yellow mustard colour.

get a canvas wardrobe
get a new bed
get a new bookcase
repaint my ceiling
annnnnnnnnndddd probably some other furniture

I need to make my curtains and clean/put up my closet door. Got to move my book shelf, bring in my chest and find stuff to put on my walls.

I love to sleep and it is very important to me to have a serene place to lay my head. And right now my room is definately half (maybe quater is more like it) done. But today I got fed up and finally hung pictures on the wall! It’s a start. I think I need to dedicate a day to my room. hmmm

I’ve been absolutely lazy just bought a wardrobe and getting it delivered in two weeks and then just need to get a new desk I think and add the last 3 canvases to the wall then done!

oh my god, where do i start. its been going on for like 6 months. its the first time i’ve ever decorated a room and i have encountered every problem there is i reckon. i had to learn to remove wall paper which has took chunks of plaster off. i’ve had to plaster around the windows (my dad and i installed the double glazing) – learning to plaster is really hard – especially when you think one area is done, then sand it and you realise it needs touching up!!!! the most frustrating bit is when i run out of anything i’m reliant on other people to help me get more stuff because i can’t drive (i’m on that don’t worry). so its been dragging on. i slept in a sleeping bag on the floor in the middle of it for a month and a half before i realised it wasn’t getting done so i moved my bed back in.

the thing is i know exactly what to do now, but i want a fresh start. i hate what my room has put me through. i’ve done 3 walls, 1 more to go, i just hope i can man up to it.
