Well I am now working in retail and I guess its ok. Its not really something I want to be doing when I am married and have kids. I am going to try and make a list of job openings in my town this week and see if anything pops out at me and actually apply for one this time

I work in a factory called Tecton Products, we make fiberglass window and door frames and parts. Its a high stress environment where I have to work 12 hours a day on concrete in a dusty, itchy, either burning hot or freezing my hands off temp, and work with many people who do not speak english well or at all.
Doesn’t sound like a very fun job huh? Well it does have its upsides, the pay is great, so are the benefits, I have made a lot of friends there and I am very good at what I do, having moved my way up slightly since I started almost a year ago.
Lately I have been extremely stressed out at work, due to a breakup with a co-worker, dealing with some new hires that are impossible to train, and dealing with a boss that seems to have it out for me.
I have been so stressed that I have actually cried a few times at work which just makes me more stressed out because I really don’t want to be seen as that person.
I am going to try to be less stressed at work and find little things each day that make me happy I work there.

Switching careers is so worth it if you know what you will LOVE doing!

I can’t see this working…My salary is down 60%, and I think the only way to make ends meet and be happy is to just find another job.

I start a new job on Monday, March 28. This is after being with the same company 4 years and not feeling like I got the respect or career path that I deserved.
I hope in my heart that the benefits of this new position start to take shape quickly, as I will finally be a store manager and have the responsibilities that I have asked for. On top of that, I’ve managed to get a position that requires less hours than the last, required a very small cut in pay, and will give me more free time to do the things that I enjoy most.
Where’s the catch? I don’t know yet. But I will know fairly soon if I’ll be happy there.
