go to MIT

i live in australia, so its going to be hard to get in, but its been one of my goals since i was 6 or 7. i really want to experience the culture and do some really cool hacks. it sounds like one of the coolest places in the world. <33

Being a high school sophomore from Europe, one of my most important goals is to go study in USA. I have been deciding between Stanford and MIT and decided for the latter.

But as I browse various websites, I see people saying, study hard, forget about your social life, etc … It bothers me, what exactly is it that you have to study so hard. I mean the only thing you really have to be prepared for is SAT. Do the members of the admission board only check what’s your overall SAT score or on score that’s relevant for the course. Isn’t it true that Maths and, say, Physics is much more important at MIT than Critical reading or Creative writing?

In my life long plan,I’ll be at MIT when I’m around 25,in 9 years.
Yeah,I’ll try to make myself a useful person in a certain field.I’m into any job I got,I’ll alaways try to make things perfect no matter how hard they may be.

I wish. I’m just hoping I have some chance of admission during the graduate years.

I actually had more fun there than I thought I would. There is a lot of diversity within the student body – not just ethnic, but in terms of interests. It might surprise you, but there is a large Greek community at MIT. Anone can find a niche, whether you’re proud to be a geek or an undercover nerd like myself. If you can handle the work, it’s a great place to go to school.

I’m totally IN LOVE with MIT. I love the hack culture and the creative people there. I know I will say ‘I have truly found paradise’ when I graduate from MIT if I get in :D. Getting into MIT is now my biggest dream and my greatest movitation to get good grades..!

i want to go to mit to become a professional programmer,white-hat hacker, or anything else that has to do with computers,cause they’re awesome!

Anyone know how hard it is to get into the grad-level science writing program at MIT? I’m currently an undergraduate at UC Berkeley. Thanks mucho!

I’ve been working super hard all my life to get into Harvard..and then I actually began researching colleges my freshman year and fell in love with MIT and everything it stands for <3<3 I got an 1880 on my SAT but I’m gonna take it again and I’m valedictorian (for now..I’m about to be a senior.) and in like…a ton of clubs..
I better get in ..who wouldn’t want me? [I’m a hxc nerd]:P

So right now I’m a sophomore in high school. I’m really interested in going to MIT’s aerospace engineering program. I was wondering if anyone who is currently applying, or has gotten into to MIT could give me any advice about applying and things they are glad they did in high school(or wish they would have done) to help them get in.
