FINALLY able to land myself a job that’s full time, so I’m finally breaking the $1000 a month wall!! (depressing, I know). I’m ticked that it took this long, but at least it happened at all. If all goes well, I should be in the clear in a matter of a couple months.

I must preface this by saying I’ve since gone in and out of debt again, but I used to live this way.
Couple suggestions:
1) read “your money or your life” – it will really change your life and has tons of great tips besides.
2) there are always ways to spend less and make a little more.
3) when you make a little more and especially when you get an unexpected windfall, you put it away. Do NOT increase your spending. Never say anything like, “ok, now we can xyz…” No. just keep living as you’re living – UNTIL
4) you save up $1000
When you get to $1000, that becomes your new baseline “zero” and you have a cushion. Things are SO much less stressful having a cushion of 1000. Even if you never get much above that, you’re still going to have a way to stay out of debt when some appliance crashes or you have to take the car into the shop. Saves so much anxiety.
Beyond that, the “your money or your life” book has a plan to follow if you want to carry it further but I think EVERYONE can achieve and benefit by reaching for that $1000 baseline.

I’ve been saving some cash up in an account that I don’t have ready withdrawal access to, but I’ve been backsliding recently. I’m hoping a better job comes along and soon!! There are so many things I want to do that require extra money like further schooling, new glasses, a vehicle…

I don’t want to be like the other people around, I want to be able to shop and help poor people and live free.

“poverty is a state of mind, not an economic issue”. if you can really grasp the meaning of this and relate to it, you can change your thinking.
what’s my state of mind?, my beliefs? my self-talk?
how can i change it?
what are people who don’t live that way doing that i’m not?
what kind of person would i have to be to not live paycheck to paycheck?
these are the right questions to be asking.
please see www.myspace.com/bhppy and watch Oprah with teachers of “The Secret” www.thesecret.tv
Read “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” and listen to Tony Robbins whenever possible.
“make friends with people who are where you want to be”. what better place to learn how to be who you want to become, than from someone who has what you want.
Wayne Dyer says “We are born with NOTHING and we’ll leave with NOTHING, the purpose of your life is to give it away.” (for the betterment of future generations; to live happily during our short stay on this planet).

the secret of NOT living paycheck to paycheck is to take out money from the second you get your check.
it can be something as little as $10/check.
i put all my extra money in an envelope every week. it’s just enough that i can miss out on and not need, and it piles up unbelievably fast.
i take 10% out after 10% tithe, and it’s really padding my income! yay.

I’ve got myself so damn budget’ed just to cover bills and what not. The only way I’m going to get out of this situation is to get a better paying job.
