I’m sitting in on a class at my University on francophone cinema. It’s too late to add the class, but it will be nice to just sit in and watch French films. I rarely get an opportunity to- and when there is a good french film playing at the local artsy theater, I’m too broke to pay $10.50 to see it.
The French movie is biography of the well-known French singer Edith Piaf who died in 1963 when she was just 47.
The only thing that I want to tell you guys about this movie is Marion Cotillard’s performance.. I don’t care she won an Oscar or something. In fact, I was a bit angry with the Acamedy for not to give it my dear Cate Blanchet, I can’t forget her face when Cotillard won the award. Then I watched the movie last night and oh my gosh!! She was just damn amazing!I saw her in other two movies but I can’t find any word to describe her performance in La Mome.It was beyond the boundaries of my imagination. And actually I didn’t expect this breathtaking performance from that weird woman, Cotillard. I f.cking love it! The truth is, I am really into it, acting business. And when I watch a movie the first thing I care about is the actors’ performances. Anddd.. she was just adorable..
La Mome is a must-see movie for anyone who loves Edith Piaf and interested in French music/movies..It was OK for me,nothing special but keep telling the same thing, I am really impressed with her acting!
It’s a Japenese masterpiece from genius animation director Hayao Miyazaki. I was late enough to see this wonderful movie and I finally watched and love it!!
I don’t think I can find a greater love in any other animation. I even can say that my pointview of aging has totally changed. There is always a bad character in every movie, but I couldn’t find any of them in Hauru No Ugoku Shiro. I mean some characters must be bad, but actually they’re not..Everyone of them are so cute..
Especially Howl, Oh my god!! I adore him..
I fell in love with an anime character.. :D and his voice (that belongs Christian Bale in English version)
It’s too sad to know that there’s no one like him, charmful, mysterious, charismatic and deep.. (he’s a bit coward but it’s ok, i don’t care..)
A real a feel good movie, it made me smile all the time..
is a Korean movie, directed by Chan Wook Park. a real stunning, annoying, affecting one..
a suitable recommend for Tarantino-lovers!
with the main theme “revenge is a dish best served cold”...
Last night I watched this. I thought I won’t like it at first. It didn’t seem the kind that I like for a movie. You know, guns are everywhere, killing people, gang wars, drug stuff and bloody scenes that I really dislike, that’s why I was procrastinating the time to see it. I finally did, and impressed so much!!
First it was based on a true story. I am always affected by the movies that based on a true story. I showed the same reaction when I see Sean Penn’s “Into The Wild” which was also a brillant movie by the way..
None of the actors are proffesional. They are all poverty stricken inhabitants of the city which is Rio de Jenairo. I think they act like they are living in the scene for real because of that reason.
The main actor is a young boy called Rocket who dreams about being a photographer when triying to survive in all bad conditions, in the city forgetten by even God.
The movie won many awards including Bafta and British Independent Film Awards. It nominated for 4 Academy Awards.
Shortly,
I’ve really enjoyed this sad and also fun see-worthy movie..
is directed by John Carney.
It’s such a tasteful emotional movie with perfect music and successful acting.
i love all the soundtracks, won the Academy Award for best original song by the way.
i recommend you to take a trip on Dublin streets with amazing songs sang by a Czech immigrant girl and a broken hearted hoover fixer sucker guy :D
I must say, i really love Once!!

I love French films – they have a kind of darkness about them that is just so delicious. Italian films are quite fun too :)
Only problem – My fiance hates most of them… apart from Chinese Martial arts films, haha.
I love watching foreign films! I seem to enjoy them more than North American releases. I think I just have such high expectations for Hollywood generated movies. Blood Rain is a great “who done it” thriller.
This was a pretty disturbing movie, but good. The guy from Paris, Je T’aime is in it, the blind one who co-starred in the segment with Natalie Portman. He was blind in this film too. Is that man really blind? I mean, he must be, right?
