I want to do this and I don’t think it would be that labour intensive – I always have a camera with me and I walk/bus everywhere.
Frankly, there isn’t an overabundance of great style in Edmonton, but I think that’s all the more reason to celebrate those who have a unique look. So what’s stopping me? Weeeell, I guess I’m kind of shy about approaching total strangers and asking to take their photos – all the more because my outfits are pretty standard most of the time. I mean, I think I always look put-together but not especially original or out there.
between work, my chemistry class and the other upcoming things… i haven’t got the time. i like the pike/pine fashion blog – so i’ll keep looking at that to content myself.
i’m happy to see that a handful of people have adopted this goal since it was created last summer. so a bit of success there.
Most of the ones I’ve been reading lately I find annoying. There have to be other ways to celebrate creative fashion than just posting a zillion pictures of girls wearing skinny jeans and legwarmers at art openings.

Of the ideas the flow in and flow out some stick and some don’t. I still really like the idea, but as soon as it came time to start taking pictures of people, I lost the motivation.
I might consider this again if I think of a slightly different spin on it. For now, I think I’m considering this shelved.

My friends and have often discussed.wondered the history of an article of clothing. We are now taking photos of fashion mannequins and waiting for the articles of clothing to disiminate down into the mainstream so we can track the ideal with the reality/functionality.

And what better time to start something like this than right at the start of fall fashion?

This Slate article makes me want to start (or help start) a similar street fashion blog in Seattle. I think it would be fun, and Seattle’s fashion is so sort of half-assed and silly that it would be an interesting contrast to other more stylish cities. Anyone want to consider helping?
