travel alone to a country without speaking the language of it

I came to Japan! It was my first trip outside Canada other then 12 days in Mexico, and it has been great!! I thought it would be crazy insanity but it is amazing how quickly you can adapt to a totally foreign environment, and find similarities that make you feel at home. I threw myself in without studying a lick of Japanese and beside being very empowering I have become a Master of Charades!!!

i’m definetly a woman of impulse and it was definetly an impulse trip. although the trip itself wasn’t entirely exciting because i had to be careful not to go out at night by myself (and well, when you’re traveling alone…there’s not too much you can do about that)...it was worth it for me just being able to say i was able to do it. it was incredibly scary and i understood all of 3 words that might have been said to me but hey, i did it and made it out ok!

Forget speaking the language, as you’ll singularly focus your senses on visually digesting all the pretty colors, fashions, and designs.
