learn how to save money

I have a serious issue with saving money, especially if it’s cash. I can’t hold on to cash. I don’t have a full time job because I’m a student, but I get pretty decent pay checks and my mom gives me 200$ a month to spend on groceries, but I just can’t save any of it, I always owe money to my mom before she gives me the next 200$, and I always overdraft on my check card. I have a shopping addiction and always seem to need to have everything. Any advice?

I am convincing myself i have no money!! I gave my bank card to my boyfriend, and asked him for little bits of money at a time.
i’m not much better at it, but i did manage to have over $200 left from my last payday on this payday which would be the first time in my life i have had money left over from paycheck to paycheck!!!
i think this could actually succeed!!!!

Since the beginning of March I’ve been slowly putting away money and trying not to touch it unless necessary. I’m going away in two months and it looks like I’ll be very comfortable :)

I just did it again. I was supposed to save 50 bucks but instead indulged myself in good restaurants and cafés. Promised myself that this will only be a once-in-a month habit.

i’ve been saving 100 out of every paycheck (15th & last) into a high-yield savings account for a while now. I would like to save more money but i think this is a good start.

my best advice is, get a savings account that isn’t tied to your checking (like ingdirect), so you can’t see the money.

Cant stnad it!!! I suck at saving money. It’s like giving me a cookie adn saying i cant eat it gahhhh!! its hard

I think I have officially gotten over my lack of saving money. I’ve saved so much money from the last time I wrote here and I have spent very little on myself. I’ve just been putting my money away and leaving it there for when I really need it. I’m very glad I did this because I think it’s an important skill.

Yeah saving isnt for me, I can never save, Just the feeling of money in my hands…..BAH! Be right back the mall is a callin ^.

I saved a total of $24 this week. You don’t understand how huge that is for me. I plan to save that and save another $24 next. Maybe even more. I think I’m getting on the right track!!

This is something I need to do becuase I’m dreadful at it. As soon as I get money I feel the need to spend it and often spend it the day I get it. I need help!
