Become self-employed

Going to check out market stalls on Saturday.

found out for myself that I need some external base clock, otherwise things don’t work. Hence just opted for honorary work, where I must show up regularly.

Today I visited the poor people table to get directions where to apply for the intended honorary work. Sadly, the secretary guy is one of those “believers” – folks who believe that being employed is the only way of living; and he was likely to force me to become dependant of charity myself where I’d be forced to work for free. – Both of those ideas are out of scope, living by charity and work because there’s something to be done.

Instead, my aim is to ‘give back’, share what I have – that high education and my internet savvyness.
 

Later, I asked at the library whether they had a computer course. I asked out of curiousity, but immediately got sucked in: “No.. not yet…though we’re supposed to give any to elderly people—do you wanna give one?” Sure I want; yet, the idea might be passed/passing upwards in their hierarchy, and I yet drafted the course. Though – although it’s close, it’s not yet regular work, or anything else that could help for that external clock source.
 

Plus, there’s one more thing I want to get done today, which I will tackle just after the pizza currently in the oven…there are a few hours left of the day, still.

The kind of self-employment I seek is as a musician and landscape photographer. Real jobs (usually) suck.

There’s no reason why this can’t be brought about.

As I notice I easily get distracted when working at home, I aim at doing work by a virtual office. Finally, I got a mobile computer, so I can work in cafés or on-site for a client.

Currently, I am working at finding a way to get wifi where I might need it.

Anyone experienced with any virtual office or working from internet cafés?

Next was to become employed another time. Paid out in terms of money but influenced my health badly. Going to surgery the upcoming week.

Just this week I got the license to work self-employedly. Now, what next?

forgot to update this, I became self-employed 6 months ago (October 07) and it’s one of the best decisions I ever made! More flexibility and better money.

I have been self-employed for about 2 months now. It’s an entirely different beast! Even on those days when I feel unmotivated, I really have to keep at it, because it’s MY business on the line. Much different from all those days I spent playing games on the internet at my corporate job. :)

As of Monday, I am also officially a freelancer! My old corporate job asked if I could do some work for them from home. Yayyy! The money I make doing the (well-paid) freelancing job for 4-6 weeks will allow me to remain self-employed through the summer doing what I really love. Woo hoo!
