Well, I already have B.A. in Music, but when I was in school, I always wondered if that was my life’s path. I always felt sort of limited, actually. I wanted to minor in Theatre but I got so tired of being in school that I dropped the minor so I could finish sooner. Now, I’m actually pursuing a career in acting, and I often feel like there’s a lot I don’t know about the craft. Besides acting, I also want to be able to supplement my income with something else I enjoy doing. I did some copy editing in college and loved it, but I think it’s difficult to break into that field without a relevant degree. So the burning question for me is, if I do go back to school, what do I study? Major in Journalism and minor in Theatre? Or vice versa? Or double major? We shall see …
Then there’s the whole paying-for-school issue. I’m still paying off a loan from my first degree, and I think free financial aid will be even harder to come by for a second Bachelor’s. So I may have to face more debt, which I really hate.
Sigh …
MollyMcQueen back at work
i know i dont really need to do this. i mean i already have a B.S. in Sport Management. but i really like to learn. i never realized it before but i do. and i want to go back to school to learn something totally different. i mean i could go get my masters but…. nah!
i’m thinking something along the lines of Anthropology or maybe even Archeology. i know it sounds kinda boring but i want a job where i can travel. and it’s always cool when you hear of people digging up new dinosaur bones and junk lol. i’m not for sure that’s what i want but i know i need to do something. and this is my plan.
right now i have a full time job (yay me!) so i cant just drop it to go back to college full time. i think i will start taking night classes at the community college to get my associates degree. that will take 2-3 years so i will still have my job. then hopefully i will have a better idea of what direction to go in and will transfer to a 4year college to get my bachelors degree.
my friend wants to be a marine biologist so bad. she knows that is her dream job! but she hasnt done taken any college classes or anything so i’m going to try to motivate her to do it with me. she is talented and i dont want to see her working at Ingles for the rest of her life, she deserves better. just wish i knew exactly what i wanted to do like her. but oh well. the details are kinda fuzzy right now but all i know is that i need start classes if anything is going to happen. i think i will start fall 09 because i have alot of other things i want to do and i need to save up some money.
Started the second year of my second degree today. Bit daunted about the written work ahead of me but looking forward to lots more drawing.
I just finished the first year of my second degree. I did really well! All my grades were firsts, and I got an outstanding first, which is about as high as is humanly possible as far as i’m concerned. Now I just have to see if I do this well next year.
I go to pick a class at the local community college tomorrow. Might be only one but it’s a start.
Well, I enrolled on my new degree this week- now we’ve just got to wait three years to see if I get it or not…
I already have a relatively “practical” degree, as degrees go…BSc. Biology. Still I’ve never found work in a related field. now I work at a university so I get tuition perks, so I’m considering getting a highly impractical degree to supplement and purely for personal interest’s sake….BA….History or German or English or Women’s Studies or Sociology….all topics of interest to me. It’s always been my dream to be a perpetual student, so this comes close.
Well I got a distinction for this year so i’m off to start the degree in September. I’ll be taking the Foundation Degree in Applied Arts and I can’t wait to start!
