As a result of not having any socialization during his first 5 months prior to my adopting him I had a puppy that was at times to terrified to walk around the block and scared of other dogs. After months of intense work on both of our parts I now have a pretty well adjusted pup. He still has moments of unease but for the most part he is doing wonderful!
Yesterday we went on a two hour hike, ended up at the large central park in our city where we wandered around for a couple of hours and he happily met and played with around 20 dogs of all different sizes before walking home on a fairly busy street with shrieking children and he could not have been happier and better behaved!
Next I need to work on him sitting when other dogs pass by, he actually gets excited to meet them now, and some fun new tricks. 12 months ago

Currently most concerned with socialising the puppy. I took him with me to a street festival where he was able to meet people of all shapes and sizes. He even walked right up to a women in an electic scooter when she asked to pet him without being timid or afraid of it. He also made friends with a beagle and walked calmly past a cockapoo that wanted to eat him. He ignored food that was on the ground and wasn’t too disturbed by the live bands. A great day for us both and I was very proud of him! 20 months ago

Meet Radar, my newly adopted Westie pup. He is five months old and is very friendly and quick but has not received much in the way of training yet. We are working on socialization and basic obedience right now with plans to get him into classes in October along with H’s recently adopted pointer, I am hoping to get into agility once he is a little older as his is fearless when it comes to exploring and loves climbing and jumping. 21 months ago
