well i sent four letters today.. mostly to my sister.. my grandparents and my sis in law… i made am all pretty with cards inside and little messages and i’m going to send a lot more!
I love sending (and receiving) letters – not emails or texts or facebook messages, but real, posted letters, preferably handwritten. There’s just something so loving, so personal, so timeless in taking the time to write a letter in this stressed world. And unlike emails or texts, saving a letter is a given. A letter you can treasure for years.
I’ve written one to my granddad recently. I try to write him every month at least. I love it that with him there are no options – he doesn’t have a mobile phone or a computer, if I wish to tell him something, it’s letters all the way. And I know he loves it.
russbuck100 can see a few goals being completed soon :D
Sent a couple of postcards whilst on holiday, but until I send some letters I won’t check this off :) I will send a letter to my friend Steve, so hopefully that’ll be the start of a string of correspondances :D
tylluan is an accidental leader.
two handwritten letters + art/accompaniment written. yes!
Richard is back to work
after a bit of a slow start; perfectionist syndrome, procrastination and suchforth i must have sent a good six or seven letters lately, it’s been really good fun and made relationships a lot closer i feel- you can learn a remarkable amount about someone i think. nothing beats the joy of receiving one back, or finding one even- hiding letters for other people to discover completely beats posting them :)
the next goal is to actually buy an address book and start compiling various addresses- i’ve got a couple in my notebook at the minute, but the more the merrier. i’m hoping i’ll get lots more correspondence going as most of my friends are off to university in september. but, for the time being, i’m considering this goal completed! :D
I send letters to my friend Nicole who lives in South Carolina. It’s a great way to keep in touch.
sent my good friend sarah in ny a miniature rock collection pencil and crayon-swirl-covered letter in a homemade newspaper envelope with maps and pictures of the sea all over it.
I’ve sent three letters out, randomly, in the last few weeks. It’s been fun!
