The facility I work at is slated to close in 2009. My option is to relocate to the Detroit area or start my own business so I can stay put.

I am finding it hard to get from spending to saving. My job is changing soon and i will be taking a serious pay cut. If I cant save anything now…how will i ever be able to save with my new job?!
I hope i’m doing this the right way. I didnt start saving until later then most. I’m not looking to live like Donald Trump but I would like to live comfortably and enjoy myself. I have a small IRA with mostly mutual funds, I have a very small stock portfolio with some kind of funny stocks and a small work profit sharing plan. Hope it works!

I know this is a somewhat selfish goal, but I don’t want to be a financially dependent on someone else in my old age. So I have a plan to make this happen.
