Here Goes Nothing 6 months ago

Day Two. My friend and I are trying to do this to keep from overindulging during the Christmas holiday. I gave up all sweets for Lent last year so I think I can do this. I just don’t want to overindulge in carbs or something to satisfy my sweet tooth. I’m going to try to go for sweet fruits like bananas or strawberries. Here we go!

TRYYYYING to lose weight 9 months ago

I have been trying to lose weight for awhile now and I am really struggling. I hope this will help.

lack of commitment 2 years ago

Yes, I have no commitment.
It’s particularly hard when the produce and bakery sections nearby where I work (in the deli) keep insisting on giving me free cookies and things.

Sigh. I shall prevail, though! I’m getting a new haircut tonight, hopefully, and I hope that this will give me a fresh start for things.

on the fourth day... 2 years ago

Yes, I am now ending my fourth day without sweets and I’m very proud of that. Turned down so far: Snickers bar, lemon meringue, Dr. Pepper, root beer floats, mint chocolate chip ice cream, and strawberry mousse. Wow.

A tip 2 years ago

Reminder, and tip to myself: Make sure to define what “sweets” means BEFORE starting on the goal. Otherwise, you can fudge (haha, ha…) the results and convince yourself that you’re not cheating.

So, by sweets I mean anything in any candy shop/aisle/shelf I may come across (at home, at school, in the mall, in the grocery, at my friend’s house…), ice cream, and unnecessary artificial sugars. This basically means no desserts or snacks.

Think I can do it? I do. I’m ready. Here we go again.

hate to say it.... 2 years ago

but I totally give up.

Had some almond toffee roca bits from See’s candy, after a horrifically bad day at work. I personally believe I deserved them and I don’t feel one bit guilty about it.

In lookig at the goal, I am pleased with my success. I managed to avoid a great deal of Christmas Holiday splurging, and lots of junk food. But at this point, I have reduced my sugar consumption well, and I seem to have a better idea of when to eat treats (which is not every time they present themselves…)
and when to stop.
So I did succeed a bit, and fail a bit…
I think I’m going to take a break from February, as I’m hoping to experiment with Gummy bears as fuel, rather than Gu or gel shots…

FOr the Moment... 2 years ago

this has gotten easier. At least for the moment. This is a good thing. But earlier this month, I really really struggled.
I’m definitely better without the donuts.

we are only 7 days into this month. This time It’s killing me. I am craing junk, I tell you. Chocolate, or sugar coated pecans, or or or….

No way I am gong to keep on doing this 2 years ago

It’s not working – I rather want to enjoy something sweet once in a while and not pressure myself anymore not to eat anything ever again.

Oops 2 years ago

I failed! On the next to last day of the month. I was very frustrated by the handyman issue (see Be more social goal). I ate a piece of cheesecake. It wasn’t that sweet. But it looks like I am going to have to do the goal again in January.
Grrrr. Well. I did very well. and I probably saved myself from eating well over 3000 calories of total waste.
:)
January, I am coming.
