I finally got around to buying a book last night for Feng Shui in a dorm room. I’m trading rooms with my brother this summer (so I can get used to having a tiny living space) so I figured I’d just model my room after a dorm room. I can’t wait to get started! 2 years ago

I’ve tried to declutter. Easier said than done, but each step is a closer step to the balance and harmony that I seek. The yard work was huge the last couple of days…but still lots to do.

I need to start drinking green tea in the day as that seems to give me a fair bit of energy…gotta stop the coffee. I put way too much creamer in it. It’s a matter of one’s whole environment….

I feel much more peaceful that the yard is looking better. 4 years ago

I’ve heard that one should receive a bagua mirror but not buy one for oneself. I bought a bagua mirror for my daughter….and hung it above her front door when I went over a week ago.

Yesterday I bought a money frog and put it in my office at the door facing inward.

I haven’t cleaned much in the last week so today I need to reduce my clutter and let the energy flow…. 4 years ago

I think once you feel that feng shui principles have merit and will work for you, it becomes an ongoing way of life that you practice daily. Not like a religion, but more like remembering you must bring harmony and balance to your life and your surroundings on a consistent basis. 4 years ago

I bought a book last year Feng Shui for Dummies. It’s actually a good book. I just bought another one that I should be receiving soon…Clear Your Clutter With Feng Shui.

I bought a bagua for my daughter’s house. I read that it is not good to buy one for oneself, but rather they should be given to you.

I am in the midst of moving my bedroom to the Love/Relationship area and switching my office to the front of the house where it is the Influential People & Travels / Careers

The only thing that perplexes me is that it seems like a bathroom is a bad thing to have in the house ;)

Went online and found a neat ‘grid’ to follow. I love my bedroom. I already had good placement for some stuff, but I am decluttered and have added pictures and splashes of color in the appropriate places. This is the web address of the site I found:

A Beginner’s Mind is a Zen principle, and I’m definitely there with my Feng Shui. I’ve head a little about it before and thought it was all “fluff”. But, after reading a couple of books this week, I see that it’s all about your intentions. If I neglect my home and space, I’m neglecting my intention and things just happen (usually for the worst). But, if I intend to make my bedroom more romantic, by placing the furniture in a certain pattern and using certain colors, etc., then I will act in a more romantic way and feel more romantic there, because that is my intention.

I’ve really enjoyed learning this first week and I’m looking forward to growing and learning more.

Purchased some bamboo and a money tree and they love my bathroom! :) THe plants outside have been doing better being watered everyday…and I’ve been doing better with my barefeet at midnight looking at the moonlight watering them every day. ;) 5 years ago

So my mom is going to help me set up my room when I get back, or at least gather some badly needed items. One of the things I might be able to use is an old crystal chandier she found while we lived in Hawaii. I remember it as a child. 5 years ago

I’ve asked my friend Sonya, who is a mutual friend of all the roommates, to come over and look at the energy of the house. Maybe between my studies of Feng Shui and her knowledge of energy we can pin-point the problems.

Some of the major problems we’ve been having…our 5th roommate’s room is right above the stairs leading directly from the foyer and front door. He moved out after only living there for a month so he could move back in with his mom and take care of her before and after her back sugery.

Our 4th roommate has been a financial disaster on all of us and obviously the cause of a lot of emotional stress. He expects us to help him out every month with rent so far, and hasn’t even thought of the fact that we’re paying for all his utilities and his groceries. He’s stayed with us so long becuase at first he was an emotional support to our third roommate, but now he’s backstabbed her and she wants him gone.

Most of my books on Feng Shui don’t have any advice when it comes to multiple roommates or rental houses (painting the walls is not an option!). Anyone know of a book or website that contains this little niche information? 5 years ago

So I’ve decided to switch my comfy computer chair with something less relaxing. I’m going to put my comfy chair either in a reading nook I’m building a bookcase for in between my knowledge and self-cultivation area, or a private conversation area in my helpful people area. I’d also like to make a mobile for my creative project area, brew suntea on my windowsill in the fame area, devlope my love/relationships area with photos of Hawaii, beaches and belly dance. I’m also going to build a smaller bookshelf with an alter-like top in my career area to fill with architecture books. In my knowledge and self-cultivation area I want to place another homemade bookshelf with Feng Shui and other spirituality books I’m studying. Add a table, journal and notebook and it’s perfect! 5 years ago

I got it from my parents we have been practising it since I was little. Now I am an active member in a Feng Shui forum helping out other members. 6 years ago

I’ve just sent in my last assignment for my Key Concepts course and am now working on the apartment’s floor plans. We’ve got some serious structural problems I need to find solutions to! 6 years ago
