As much as I like the Smart car, there’s something even more affordable and more green: a bicycle!

With a smart car, I could snatch all those parking spaces that are just a little too small for any other car to park in. There’s always at least one of them on every block. I could park anywhere.
has anybody heard any word of somebody buying one in the u.s.? i created this forum so that we could share information about when they go on sale – still no official word.
I test-drove one today and it was the most amazing experience – extremely nippy with great handling. The tiptronic gearbox gives you great control, and switchable fully-automatic works nicely too. It’s comfortable, quick, quiet and blends a large-car interior with small-car handling beautifully. Stop-start in the city and cruising at 70mph are both fine.
However, I can’t justify spending £7000 when I could throw that at my current mini and get a lot more value.
A truly great car, though. If you’re into modern and don’t want to do repairs on an old car, I’d highly recommend it.
Trying one out tomorrow afternoon.
I hope it either lives up to expectations or gives me a clear indication that it’s not the car for me!
We’re taking our holiday suitcases and other things to see just how practical it can be.
I don’t think they want me to have one. I’ve contacted them twice now about a test drive and they haven’t got back to me.
I’ve checked out the insurance and I can afford it. More so if I add wifey. I’ve never quite understood why it goes down by £50 if you add another driver, but never mind… I’m not complaining!
Also, the higher spec seems to be cheaper to insure than the basic.
I’ve sorted out my finance, and sent in a test-drive request. Wifey is (so far) behind my decision, but we’ll see when she’s had a sit in one. I haven’t looked into the insurance yet… I’ve never owned a car less than about 10 years old before…
