It was indeed a mighty battle as I readied my spells and held my long staff and cloak against the bludgeoning wind of the beast’s wings. The warriors and thieves charged forth and the clerics prayed to their gods for long hours. I drew lightning across the skies and formed fire in the airs, but the monsters mighty scales held strong.
Then all held still as I unleashed my Time Stop. The world fell silent and grey for a long sigh, then erupted back into motion filled with the fog of my encantations. And holding one less dragon. 4 years ago
I’ve been scouring the world over and so far the only dragons I’ve been able to locate is a species living on some of the lesser islands of Indonesia, particularly the island of Komodo. Although apparently flightless and unable to breath fire (both a little disappointing, I must admit), they do possible the ability to charge at speeds of up to 13 miles an hour, and their bite is so potent that a mere nip could prove fatal if not immediately treated with the best modern science has to offer. Not surprisingly though, it appears that dragons are currently considered a “vulnerable” species (not as critical as “endangered”, but still protected) which could make slaying one quite a problem with the authorities.
