I have been learning Spanish on my own for close to two years now.
I started out with Michel Thomas which turned out to be European Spanish, not exactly the Spanish that I wante to learn. And then I moved on to Learning Spanish Like Crazy and I have finished both level 1 and 2 of Learning Spanish Like Crazy. . That has really helped me with my Spanish pronunciation and improved my listening skills. I tried Rosetta Stone, which I found a little too basic for my needs since I hope to someday reach fluency. Are there any courses that others would recommend for someone who is interested in learning Lating American Spanish as opposed to European Spanish?

Week 3 & 4

My ex has a distinct advantage over me as he has studied spanish before. This is suppose to be a beginner’s class and he is making it an intermediate class and I started to feel I was falling behind and had to remind myself I wasn’t. I had to stop my teacher today and say that he was going too fast for me. He understood that my ex and him may understand how the language is constructed but its different in English!
Well, it might be nice to mimic what I am saying but I like to know what I am actually asking! I am learning, thats for sure. :D

I had my second Spanish lesson yesterday. Finding it easy to read and write the language but hard to hear it and understand what people are saying. I borrowed some tapes from the library to hear people talk to get myself accustomed to it.

I went to a Spanish festival today and signed up for Spanish lessons. I have always wanted to learn Spanish. The woman who teaches it is from Argentina too – which is even better since that is the country I want to go to.
I am pretty stoked to learn this especially since I signed up with my housemate so we can speak it at home to practice.
