I was there last summer, and made me want to attend more than ever. What a city. It’s oozing (quite literally) with mystery and history.

How I did it: New Orleans was lots of fun, I loved the city and the parades and the general festive feeling during mardi gras. Bourbon street on mardi gras was not really my scene, but we walked around for a while just to have the experience and then we went to a bar somewhere else which was fun, also. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I went with a group of friends for three days of drunkenness. Other than the initial hotel bookings, there's no need to plan. I'm sure someone had a map or something. I just went with the flow. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I went to college in New Orleans and we had a Mardi Gras break. For me every year was completely different. The First Year I was timid. I went to the uptown parades and stood at the corner of Napolean and St. Charles (across from Copeland's) and caught as many beads as possible. I would trudge back to my dorm with a sore neck from the weight of the beads. The Second Year I was a little more daring. On Fat Tuesday, my friend and I follow… Read how I did it…

How I did it: I went twice, or three times as a young-in and had a blast. I dressed up every year, the one I remember in particular I was a queen with a crown, dress and cape. I was thrown a special parrot stuffed-animal that year!Next year we knew someone on the camera crew, so we got a "box-office" which was a cage the cameras sat in and leaned over into the road where the floats were going by. We weren't as crowded and gathered buckets and buckets o… Read how I did it…

How I did it: Well this was pretty easy, since I lived in New Orleans for 16 years. This year is the first time that I have ever missed Mardi Gras. There are so many things to do and the parades are excellent and so much fun. You will always remember your trip. And you doing have to get drunk and go to Bourbon street to have a good time. this year i went to mardi gras in NOLA as a last-minute invite…friend of a friend’s trip. it was definitely worth it, & i remember why i love new orleans so much. it’s a beautiful city that still needs a lot of love.
parades are not to be missed! i think my favorite was the bacchus. & there was a great costume show on the gay side of bourbon st on mardi gras. yeah, bourbon was packed, but i don’t think i’d have it any other way.
worst part? having to buy something at mcdonald’s to go to the bathroom. but it still definitely beats a port-a-potty!
i definitely want to go back. i can’t believe it took me this long to do this!

I lived on a ship called the Delta Queen ” which is a huge river boat, that goes up and down the mississippi river.” I bartended on it for a summer. Its home port was New Orleans, and i had a lot of fun in the french quarter, but i always regreted not being there for the big show ” Mardi Gras”
One day :) Whats the deal with the beads? I’m from the UK so I haven’t a clue.
