| I love learning, and bringing as many people as I can with me, so doing this course in a completely non-technical work environment was a fantastic opportunity. I had a lot of fun explaining how many of these Web 2.0 tools worked to my colleagues who joined me in the Learning 2.0 course at work. I hope I helped them become less nervous of, and opposed to these useful tools. I will maintain my blog, and continue to write about neat tools for work, personal life and in education: (Aether ICT) If you drop by, please leave a comment! | ![]() |

| This is becoming a longer course than I expected, partly due to it having to be done during work hours (there are so many other more important tasks to get done for work during work hours!) As I am fairly comfortable with web 2.0 applications and love working in the ‘cloud’, I decided to take more of a mentor role for the others in my organisation that are doing this course as they are typically much less comfortable and less experienced with technology and the web. This means that my blog posts take so much longer to research and write than I expected. I find I am often trying to help clear up misconceptions, and explain why a specific web 2.0 tool is useful, when colleagues have dismissed it as irrelevant, time-wasting, or dangerous. Currently, half way through the course. I will continue to maintain the blog (Aether ICT) long after this ‘course’, but I will probably change the focus to using technology in education or to enhance learning. | ![]() |
I am glad I did the Learning 2.0 program so I am more aware of what resources are available. The main conclusion I have reached is that I don’t really have the patience for all of it. Having to maintain a blog was way more time consuming than I thought it would be and then having to remember all the sites I have registered with, jeez. LibraryThings is a site I will definetly keep using.
Blogging is a skill for life – as life is about sharing and learning something new everyday. I hope that through blogging I can absorb information, opinions and philosophies of people with similiar interests and goals.

I have had a Live Journal blog for 6 years now. It helped me keep in touch with my daughter when she was at college. She actually created my image (yes, I am a gryphon) I’ve never been one to sit back and watch other people do things.
Blogs exist for many reasons. Some people have burning desires to express their opinions. Some just want to record their thoughts. Whatever the reason, blogs can be great tools.
I also read about 20 blogs, more if I log into live journal. The library blogs give me information about libraries.
