How to make Firefox my default browser by Sophiestication

"Fast and virtually virus free. Add-ons to the browser are extremely practical and easy to use. Well worth it."

How I did it: Read through the resources I have provided below to find various links to help you get started and finished installing Firefox in no time. :)

Once you've installed the browser:

  1. there will be one more step left to do and that's to make it your default browser. Open up Firefox and go to the top of the screen and click on the menu called Tools, then click on Options > Advanced > General.
  2. And go right down to the bottom to find under System Defaults, the following: "Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser on startup". 
  3. On one side there will be a little box you can tick if you wish to perform this check every time. And on the other side will be a button called Check Now. Click it.






A little window will pop up offering to make Firefox your default browser.
And that's it! :)

    The only problem I had with this was the pain of using Internet Explorer on machines where I had no access to Firefox. There are options for workarounds, but the difficulty in them usually negates the advantage Firefox has in convenience and speed.

    Excellent option, but stay open to others!

    Shows you a different Virtual world (The world wide web) with much security and ease to browse. You have a hell lots of add-ons which helps you to:

    - Use different themes
    - To look up a word on the very same window (Dictionary plugin)
    - Great Bookmarking (My firefox bookmarks follow me :) )

    I can keep going on and on… =)

    Really a wonderful thing to do!

    When I made Firefox as my default browser, IExplorer did not have tabs yet. So, the choice was easy to make.
    And I am SO glad I did it. Firefox is more stable; you can get tons of tools to personalise it. I would advice it to anyone, even beginners!
