we went to New York City for our senior trip. i’m actually still here….stranded because the airlines have cancelled flights due to the storm. but i totally got to ice skate at Rockefeller Center on Monday night with my best friend and other friends. and it was amazing. basically. that’s really all i can say about it. it was very surreal, and i hope i get to do it again someday!

How I did it: I go to "Breakfast with Santa" with my younger cousins/aunts/uncles every Christmas since I could remember - Skating is included. No wait to get on the ice. They keep it from getting too crowded by making the people who walk in from off the street waiting. Read how I did it…
How I did it: It was just by chance that I got to do this. My dad and stepmother took me down to the city one day and we ended the day at Rockefeller. It was so beautiful. There's something impressive about ice skating there when the tree is up and lit, everyone is in scarves, all the bright colors.I recommend this for anyone looking for a splash of holiday spirit, no matter what denomination you are. This was the only time I went ice skating. Very romantic and could be part of an amazing evening.
Ice skating in Central Park is WAY better! Less crowded, cheaper, and a great view of 5th Ave buidlings in the background. Too much hype surrounding Rockefeller…as many things in NYC seem to be. It’s MUCH smaller than it looks on the Today Show! :)
It’s crowded and pricey and it can take a long time to get on the ice…but you really should do it at least once at Christmas time, just to say you did.
last night i ice skated in rockefeller center and it was probably one of the most fun things i have ever done. it was so so so so fun and i cant remember the last time i laughed so hard. : )
