I am now reading the transcendentalists…Thoreau, Emerson, and the fellas. Good stuff, worth it.

For beginners of philosophy, try reading “Sophie’s World” by Jostein Gaarder.

"Good philosophy"? Rather subjective, methinks. 4 years ago

Well, it’s worth doing until it drives you completely insane.
So far I’ve read some pre-Socratics, Plato (practically everything with the exception of Laws and Phaedrus), Aristotle (yuck), Epictetus, Hume, Locke, Berkeley, Descartes, Spinoza, Heidegger (will particularly drive one mad), Hegel (ditto), Husserl, Russell, Sartre, Singer, Kant, and J.S. Mill. Most of these I read during the course of my studies.
    I’m a philosophy major, dur.
