So, I meant ride on one, not actually be the one in front. I was in Paris for the first time last week and met a guy while I was there. He was inviting me for some drinks the day before I left and he drove a motorcycle (which I didnt know). He picked me up where I was at and drove me around Paris in his motorcycle to get to the bar we were going to. It was night, we crossed the Siene river, passed the Eiffel tower, saw the Bastille. Probably one of the coolest things I have done in my life, and best tour of the city ever!!! 4 months ago

In Nov, 2012, I rode a Moped in Hawai’i for hours. It was pretty incredible, and I can imagine that a motorcycle is a faster, louder version of what I did, so I consider this goal kind of met. 6 months ago

LIke I said earlier, it’s not just about learning to ride. That’s not how I define this goal for myself—I want to learn to ride WELL, so that I truly feel comfortable on the seat of my bike and understand how it works. I want to be a seasoned rider one day, one who is responsible on the street and perhaps one day who might learn to ride on a track.
So, a few months ago I signed up for this course and took it. Very empowering, especially given my gender. Glad I did it! :) 8 months ago

So I had set Oct 6 as my deadline for getting onto an interstate-type driving way, and the date arrived.
I still hadn’t done what I set out to do. BUT I did have a place to be on Saturday night. So I decided to go for it. I had been afraid of doing this, but the fact that I had a dinner to get to was something else for me to focus on. I had to see this commitment through, and I knew I’d feel lousy if I let OCt 6 come and go without even attempting my motorcycle goal.
I summoned up my courage and resolved to take my motorcycle as transportation that night, and to forgo the local route by taking the interstate.
I got on my bike and it stalled. What timing—I decide to finally do this, and my bike has something wrong with it. But I was already running behind. And so I sucked it up and went. I’ve experienced this kind of mechanical problem before on my bike, so I at least knew some tricks to overcome it. The bike cut out on me a few times on the way there (and back), but I made it.
So I completed this mini goal under adverse conditions!
