Do community service

Last year I spent a few long weekends at a Helping Hands place. I started because my High school requires us to do community service hours in order to graduate. But I really loved being there. It really felt like I was making a difference. The owners stuck me in the back usually for 3 hours with a butt load of donated clothing. By the end of the day I had all of these clothes hung and ready to put out front. There was a really strong bond between all the volunteers there and I heard alot of uplifting stories about the organizations effect on our community. I want to volunteer here again, and find some other ways I can help around the area. and not just for school.

President Obama is trying to stir up a renewed sense of service among Americans. His enthusiasm is infectious, and I really want to contribute. I don’t know how, yet, but I’m sure there are plenty of opportunities. I want to seek those out this summer and do some volunteer work.

I have started a course on Introduction to Community Services and am working voluntarily for Anglicare and Fusion

I haven’t done any community service since I was in highschool. I’d like to do something like clean up trash or help at the humane society or help build a habitat house… I don’t know what I can do but I feel bad that I’ve not done anything like that in a long time.

what with earth day approaching, I’ve signed up for 3 events that would help with the environment. Not sure if it counts as “community” service, but I think since the environment benefits the community, it does count.

Anyway, so far, so good. Woke up early and picked up trash at Lake Mead, which I have to say is an amazing way to start your day! Not only are you doing something good for others, you’re getting exercise and helping yourself too!

When I wasnt well I had alot of support. Now Id like to give back to society.

I did this over at Clausen House for a few hours during my spring break. I have to do set up an action plan next year.

I need my 90 hours to graduate high school and I have done absolutely nothing. So i need a major start on things.

I want to actually do something, in stead of just spending some money on charity on a monthly or annual bases. I haven’t decided what I want to do though, so suggestions are much appreciated.

It was a lot of fun because my friends were there and because I felt like I was helping out. I’ll definetly do this next year.
