do one nice thing every day

Carried a limping woman’s suitcase up the stairs in the subway station.

it might be diffiult to do this even one thing, but its important to make myself feel good…Give a hug to my boyfriend, have a nice coffee, look up the beautiful sky, etc…anything will do.

I’m going to pick up and deliver my mom’s prescriptions

my mom is sick, so most of my things are going to be mom-focused for a while. It’s hard to do nice things for my mom with only an altruistic motive- I’m so used to being rewarded with money or favors in kind. That sounds terrible, but it’s true. I was kind of spoiled as a kid. So now, I’m just trying to be nice to my mom when she’s sick, like she was nice to me when I was sick.

I don’t have the internet at home (long story) so I’ll write down my weekend plans now.
Saturday: Do some errands for my mom, since she’s been feeling sick, and spend some time with her.
Sunday: Tell a stranger that she’s wearing a cute outfit.

I considered the feelings of my friend and didn’t call her before I knew she would be awake. Also, I’m making an effort to smile more and make more eye contact.

call my mom and ask how her book is going.

Make a fancy dinner for my boyfriend. This is kind of making up for this morning, when I woke him up getting ready for work.
Edit: He ended up wanting to eat dinner at work, so I just made dessert instead.

Call and ask how my friend’s job interview went.
Edit: That seemed to go ok, but not great. I will try to think of something nicer to do for her.

go visit my mom. Actually, that doesn’t count, because I have a number of ulterior motives. I’ll call her and see if there’s anything I can pick up on the way.
(Edit): I ended up going to pick up her prescription for her, which was definitely nice, because she felt way too sick to go get it. Yay!
