lovepeaceinsanity is sick and tired of being sick and tired
How I did it: I looked through every resource I had available - two or three newspapers, a weekly classifieds newspaper, and craigslist as often as possible. I made a list of possible apartments to go over with my boyfriend, and then I called the apartments. We actually got lucky. By the time we were in a position to actually get an apartment (We had started looking a month before, and then a little bit before then... but we realized quickly we had sta… Read how I did it…

How I did it: We actually got really lucky. A friend of ours was renting out his newly purchased loft after all the renovations were complete. He gave us a good deal on a place that would otherwise be way out of our budget. So, my advice? Get lucky? It seemed to help us out. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I went around looking for places. I found a great one in my price range in a great part of town. I am so excited and I move in Monday. Its just about really taking time to get out there and talk to people and look at places. so you know you'll be satisfied with what your getting into. Read how I did it…

dandelion seed loves her bed more than a little too much.
And while I am nervous and not sure what to expect, I am also excited. I’m 25. It’s time to be on my own. And my saving for the last three years has created a little cushion for a few gaffs along the way.
It’s a small 620 sq foot 1 bedroom in a nice building and a nice neighborhood. Walk in closet, hardwood floor, trees outside the window… and it is actually within my budget!
Hopefully I’ll like it enough to stay for the last 3 (maybe 4) years of school. We’ll see. I feel more like this is a new beginning than anything else since… hell, birth. We will see how it goes.

Since we can’t move in until September 1st and my boyfriend’s summer housing contract with the university goes through mid-August, I left my old apartment early, packed all my things away in storage (except the necessities) and I’ve been staying in his tiny dorm/apartment. (It does have a kitchen, so it’s not too dorm-ish.) It’s pretty great really. The bed is tiny so we have to sleep close together. The kitchen is small so we bump into each other while both trying to move around in it. It’s not the best possible of all situations, but it’s comfortable even while cramped. I guess that’s a good sign that moving in with him is going to be all right. If it isn’t, I’m just going to keep on pretending it is.

We signed the lease today. We found a great one bedroom loft not far from where I’m living now, which is about a 10 minute walk from home and school. In other words, perfect. We won’t be able to move in until September 1st, so I’ll be bumming a couch every now and then until that day. I can’t wait though. We’ll be allowed to paint and add shelving, something I wasn’t able to do in my current apartment. And of course, I’ll be able to bring little Alexei. Oh happy day.

Still looking. I’m so picky at finding a place lol!!!!!
I need to start writing down how much I make every day so that I can be more realistic about what I can afford. What would be even better…getting a 2nd job. I shouldn’t be so lazy! I just got my 6th shift for this next week so now I’m going to try to get one for the 7th day. I don’t mind working every day because my shifts are so short.

Did some looking yesterday and today. I checked out of two bd two ba, I kind of liked it. Today I looked at a two bd 1.5 ba and I wasn’t impressed with it as much as I was with the one I checked out yeaterday. Well I will keep looking and decide what I will do on Mar. 25. Until I will keep my options open and give others vacancies a chance.

STill looking!!! Everything is still the same. I did some searching yesterday. One apt was not well keeped, and the other one was too far from work, school and everywhere else but it was very nice. So today I’m gonna do some online searching since I haven’t been online in a while.

Sorry it’s been a few days since I last commented on my quest for an apartment, but here’s an update. I did some searching on
Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. I found out about these apts on Craigslist. There is one and a possible. I’m just waiting to do a view on Mar. 25 and the other will not be ready until Apr. 1. It will not stop there I plan to do some more searching tomorrow on Craigslist, pennysaver, and apartment.com and see what else is out there. I will try and keep you posted tomorrow with my results. Goodnight!!!!
