Doing well so far . . . 1 month ago

A few lapses, but held strong today. And I really wanted one! Bad! But the problem was that my cup was dirty. Actually a few times I’ve thought I’d take a chai or hot chocolate to work but don’t have a hot cup. So either I will be washing my hot cup from work and taking it back and forth or buying another one to satisfy my morning hot-drink craving.

Had been doing well . . . 1 month ago

but fell off the wagon today. No jitters, because it was powdered cappuccino. Had to even add sugar. Ick. Not worth it!!!

Well, as predicted . . . 1 month ago

for many years, I thought if I started drinking coffee, I would get hooked. And for a while that wasn’t true, so I let down my guard. Then I pitched in coffee at work and brought yummy half and half in and that was the end of it.

So about two weeks ago I went to a meeting and sucked coffee the whole time and my heart raced! Seriously! And of course I couldn’t sleep that night, even though I was so tired. And I went a few weeks without.

This morning I was feeling like a treat and got a coffee shop coffee and now it’s 9:05 p.m. and I STILL feel hyper! And I got the racey heart again. So it is time.

I think I don’t really need the caffeine but like the comfort of a warm drink in the morning. I have an herbal tea at work that I really like and is soothing on the throat (awesome feature being a teacher) so will try to focus on that more than coffee. But I have to drink it right away when I get there because otherwise I have to pee at the worst time and can’t leave my room!!

This is day five, so far so good. It has helped that I didn’t have a lot to do this week. The third day was the hardest so far – hopefully I will just keep feeling better. It’s funny but I have noticed that my house smells really fresh and clean without making coffee all day and I put a big bowl of fruit where the machine was.

This is the end of my second day without coffee and suprisingly, I haven’t felt that bad (yet). Coffee has been my reason for getting up every morning for ten years – sad isn’t it? I’ve been strongly advised to quit coffee due to a medical condition. I was going to give up all caffeine but really, I think a little green tea is okay. I’ve tried to stop drinking coffee in the past but it never took – I think cold turkey is the best way for me to quit. I also bought some caffeine-free herbal coffee which isn’t too bad.

Decaf coffe 12 months ago

Can I drink Decaff to stop the caffeine consumpton?

headaches are gone 13 months ago

thank the universe. i’ve been drinking tea. i think some better nutrition would be helpful. if i can get my act together enough to go grocery shopping on a regular basis, i’d like to drink a green smoothie every day to help boost the natural energy reserves.

after a month with no coffee, i’ll call it done.

day four 13 months ago

the headache has dulled a bit. instead of hammering away at my brain, it just cuddles with the sleepy feeling behind my eyes. i bought some good tea. maybe i’ll drink some orange juice later.

is it nap time?

I think I've done this... 14 months ago

But at the moment it’s enforced quitting due to pregnancy, and I’m still enjoying my decafs, so I don’t think I’ll mark it as done until I can resist coffee purely for my own sake.

Decaf 18 months ago

I am so tired today and decaf just doesn’t help…
But I’m sticking to it still.
