This is day five, so far so good. It has helped that I didn’t have a lot to do this week. The third day was the hardest so far – hopefully I will just keep feeling better. It’s funny but I have noticed that my house smells really fresh and clean without making coffee all day and I put a big bowl of fruit where the machine was.
How to quit drinking coffee
How I did it: I quit drinking coffee the day I quit smoking. For me, the two went hand in hand - get up in the morning, have a coffee with my cigarette. Take a break from housework, playing wow, whatever, have a coffee and a cigarette.
Now, instead of reaching for the coffee pot, I reach for the jug of water I keep in the fridge.
Lessons & tips: just don't buy the stuff!
drink lots of water
Resources: eat a healthy breakfast
replace all the coffee I drank with water

This is the end of my second day without coffee and suprisingly, I haven’t felt that bad (yet). Coffee has been my reason for getting up every morning for ten years – sad isn’t it? I’ve been strongly advised to quit coffee due to a medical condition. I was going to give up all caffeine but really, I think a little green tea is okay. I’ve tried to stop drinking coffee in the past but it never took – I think cold turkey is the best way for me to quit. I also bought some caffeine-free herbal coffee which isn’t too bad.
thank the universe. i’ve been drinking tea. i think some better nutrition would be helpful. if i can get my act together enough to go grocery shopping on a regular basis, i’d like to drink a green smoothie every day to help boost the natural energy reserves.
after a month with no coffee, i’ll call it done.
the headache has dulled a bit. instead of hammering away at my brain, it just cuddles with the sleepy feeling behind my eyes. i bought some good tea. maybe i’ll drink some orange juice later.
is it nap time?
But at the moment it’s enforced quitting due to pregnancy, and I’m still enjoying my decafs, so I don’t think I’ll mark it as done until I can resist coffee purely for my own sake.

To quit drinking coffee? It’s not like I drink a tonne of it, but it does get me hopping at work, and I can get so much done.
Today was my first day off coffee. I was sleepy, grumpy, untalkative, and lethargic.
Is this even worth doing?
