Yes, I am moving house soon. If that wasn’t incentive enought to toss my old clothes then the thought that I am moving into a wonderful place I do not want to clutter should be!

Before I went away I packed up a lot of my clothes as I had people staying in my room while I was abroad. When I returned I went through them and took out only what I would think I would need and wear again – there is at least half a bag full of clothes I have not given a though to since. A trip to the second hand store is in order!
I cut up an old mud-stained pair of pants to make quilt squares (discarding the stained parts obviously). It wasn’t the best fabric for quilting, but it let me get started less expensively and more immediately.
and I still haven’t done it! At this point I have barely enough clothes hangers and I refuse to buy more. When I graduate I’m going to start doing a 27 Fling Boogie (FlyLady terminology that will be familiar to fellow devotees) on Tuesday nights (garbage truck comes on Wednesday morning), and I think I’ll gradually purge the closet that way. I also scheduled two Saturdays on next year’s calendar for a more systematic culling.
Given all the clothes I received as Christmas gifts and bought with Christmas money, I definitely need to get to this task this weekend. It’s on my calendar, but I also need to take down and organize/pack up Christmas decorations, so I’m going to be busy. I hope I can get to all of it—another school semester is just around the corner!
It’s time to purge my closet. I have worn out and stained shirts that are taking up my valuable space. I have dresses I never wear in dated styles that need to go. I’d like to get this done before I start my next class in January 2007. I need to take the good stuff to the consignment shop and dump the rest.
