I’ve used Manic Panic “Vampire Red” a few times in my life, and enjoyed the neon hair… while it lasted. Manic Panic washes out super quick, and my hair was so dry from the bleaching it didn’t keep the color as well.

How to dye my hair an unnatural color"I do this on a regular basis."
How I did it: I'm kind of known for my crazy hair. I change the color a lot. And I've done plenty unnatural colors like green and yellow and pink. I'm enrolling in cosmetology school. I still can't get over the fact that when I get my license, I'll get to cut and dye people's hair for money! Holy crap. But I digress. I'm supposed to be telling you how to dye your hair an unnatural color right now. Lessons & tips: Nobody really makes permanent unnatural colors, so buy a semi-permanent dye like Manic Panic. http://www.manicpanic.com/classic%20cream%20formula.html |

How I did it: I had been putting it off for years - I was looking for a new job, and I knew showing up with normal looking hair would probably help me during an interview. So finally, after landing the new job, I could approach my hairdresser about adding some purple. She bleached out a hair amount of hair, including the underside of my bangs and large sections on either side of my head, but with a layer of my natural hair over it, so it wasn't TOO obvi… Read how I did it…

How I did it: Bought dye, washed it into my hair and on the first day of school, it was blue! When it faded, it turned green and then in two more years, I dyed it red. ;] Read how I did it…

Amanda is awwwwright
I’ve had my hair enough odd colors to form a veritable rainbow, but it’s been about two years since that period. Sooo over February vacay I ran to Sally Beauty, picked up a color remover, a bleach kit, and a couple of jars of Manic Panic, and let the torture commence. As my hair is dyed black, the ends of what I bleached wound up this sort of horrid orange color, as was to be expected, and the roots were the blonde I had hoped for- didn’t apply heat, stupid mistake. :|
Anyway, I used Manic Panic’s Hot Hot Pink over the bleached bits, and the result is nothing short of delicious. The roots, as I said, were better bleached so they’re quite bright- but this is what you get when you put that particular dye over ginger hair (check the pic)
Well I started with slightly unnatural permanent boxed dyes. Then I went for Special effects over unbleached (but slightly lightened hair), which was fun, but wasn’t enough.
Then I finally went for it and bleached my hair. I left it blonde for a month (for fun, and due to an injury preventing me from dying it, lol) and then in went the Devilish! My hair is BRIGHT red, and fades to an orangey-pinky-red color. I have to re-dye it more often because I can’t stand orange, but it’s soooo pretty! And I definitely get a lot of comments on it. (I’ll never understand why old ladies think they have the right to tell me my hair is bad. STFU! I like it and that’s all that matters)

I’ve tried black with a blue sheen, bright red, and purple that looked more blue than anything.
If you’re not one to commit to a color, I suggest Manic Panic hair dye. I’ve found it in Hot Topic, Sally Beauty Supply and online, and it washes out in a week or less. It’s also made with natural ingredients, so it’s not hard on your hair.
I’ve also tried L’oreal’s Black Onyx, which is that black with a blue sheen. It’s much more permanent, but that brand has only a few “out there” colors.
The Manic Panic website has lots of pictures and suggestions for making their dye last longer. Some users don’t wash their hair very often (not an option in my case, my hair is really oily), and others let the dye sit in their hair overnight, or for 4 or 5 hours. The container says leave it in for an hour or something…but that’s way too little to make your color last.
Good luck!

Those are all of the colors that I have had in my hair. I love dying my hair and I do it a lot during the winter but only my bangs or the back section of my hair.
