pay off my library fine

A few times a year I forget to return some books and amass a fine of about $5. No biggie. I just write a check and get more books! Because come on, buying the books from a store would be way more expensive. I can’t believe it’s free to rent books in the first place. Now if only NetFlix would get that idea…

It’s paid. I vow to never let this happen again.

Apparently, I amassed a $20 colletion fee when my other fees grew too large. After embarrassing myself enough about them, I returned the problem-causing books and paid off the associated fines, but I figured I would talk the library out of the additional collection fee.

Now, I know I just need to deal with it. I’m sure they’ve got their fees-worth in hunting me down….

And if I pay it, then hopefully I can check out more things!

[On a side note, paying overdue library fees is the best kind of late fee there is, because you know it’s not benefiting some corporation, but allowing the library to buy even more books!]
