This week I received for review bottles of “coconut water” from Amazon.co.uk, which I throughly enjoyed and reviewed as a member of the Vine programme:-
I’d certainly recommend this beverage to anyone else and if you’d like check out the review and if its helpful please leave me some feedback. Thanks. 3 weeks ago
On my last hike I was kinda bored and still had time before they locked the gate. I cut my original hike in half and turned around early. The winds had kicked in and it was absolutely unbearable. Funny thing as I decided to go down the other side of the mountain back, the winds seemed to have died. Gosh darn it. lol
So on the way back I found this side trail that I decided to explore. I saw footprints so I knew that it wasn’t a deserted trail and that someone had been there recently (i.e. it’s a usable trail). Wow. It hugged (and I do mean hugged!) the side of the mountain. I decided to explore the trail as far as I could before it got a bit dicey. It was a great little side trail to get away from everything but there were spots where the shale was falling off the mountain and completely blocked the path (yeah, dicey)... and then I started to think about how no one knew where I was and heaven forbid if I slipped or something. As I was leaving I looked back and I saw this guy ridge running. Damn! I’ve always admired those people but damn it’s dangerous! (I have a feeling it’s more mental than anything but I’d rather not find out lol). I got a picture of him, boy that’s crazy. I don’t know how he got over to that spot since the trail was washed out (shale landslide). I think there’s a series of interconnected small trails because he disappeared off the ridge and I could see a network of trails on the other side.
And then… instead of going back to my car I decided to walk down to the campground parking area…. very cool. Glad I did. The stream runs thru that area and because it was so late, no one was there. It was absolutely beautiful! I could walk around and explore… the frogs were out croaking their little hearts away… the stream was gurgling as the water trickled between the rocks… beautiful. I also walked by the bulletin board and learned that it was bear territory. (Oops. Good to know) It was great. I could hear the melody of frogs all the way back to my car. Absolutely peaceful. :) 4 weeks ago
Then your realise that your options are more limited than you first imagined, I think this is useful for this alone.
It is good to have the outward looking and aiming trait which I think is implied in this, its like the script underpinning the movie Yes Man! With Jim Carey (and the much less interesting and worthy book by Danny Wallace) but at the same time it makes you think about novelty, how important it is or has become as a cultural sign post in daily life or how its used to sell and advertise.
I’m currently trying to find something which will feed my thinking about this goal and any suggestions are more than welcome :) 1 month ago
I tried Norm’s veal marsala the other night. It was ok. Texture almost of chicken. Can’t say I hated it or loved it. 1 month ago
That’s new. Baby had mid term ultrasound today. Everything looks great! Got a few pictures. :) 2 months ago
I got a small espresso kettle for Christmas which I hadnt used until today, it does the same as my actual coffee machine but I think I like the ritual and having it there in reserve as the more basic option should the other ever break down.
I didnt have good grounds but I wont blame the kettle and hob production for the fault of the ingredients :P 2 months ago
In many ways, although its not been as easy to achieve than to think about or remain open to in theory, I’d hoped to be able to update this frequently with more and more new things which I had tried, for better or worse, but I guess its not worked out like that just yet.
If anyone’s subscribed to me I’d be open to suggestions, I’ve tried out lots of different kit at the gym, which in some ways has been good and in line with this goal but not exactly what I had in mind. 3 months ago
I tried some food I’d never eaten before at the international/christmas market in belfast recently, something called peirogi, its like a steamed white pasta with a choice of fillings in it, I had some pork and it was very nice.
I also tried the bratwurst that night but I’d tried it before. 5 months ago
This is actually a two-parter. I started going back to church, I love my spiritual community and I’ve missed them so. It was great. Sunday was my first time back. As I was standing in the foyer because I was late and needed some air, someone came over and checked on me. I love being in a space of unconditional love, where people just genuinely care about you and what you’re going thru. I noticed that they have mediations in the morning during the week. So I decided to say yes. It sounded like what I needed to get me back on my spiritual path.
Well I am glad to say that they are absolutely divine. (pun intended) .. Gotta listen to your heart. It guided me back home AND provided me with the tools that I need to help me be a more balanced, loving, compassionate person.
Absolutely wonderful. 5 months ago
Wow, this was good. I’m really impressed.
It was part of the (dinner for) 2 for $10, so I decided to give it a try. It takes a while to bake, but definitely worth it! So much food!
Yum! 5 months ago

So on the way to the hotel in Palm Springs, I ran across this…
Well actually I drive over it (paved road) lol.
Funny how’s things happen though. I saw a sign for Whitewater Preserve on the side of the road… Famous last words “well he’s only 3 miles away, I should go, I’m already here” ... 3 miles turned into 8.. right as I’m getting ready to turn around
and go back to the main road since I’m out in the middle of nowhere and there’s nothing around, I saw this huge creek! What? Water out in the middle of nowhere??? And it’s moving FAST!! It was so darn amazing.. I felt like I found gold lol. Throughly incredible.

Tried travelling to Dublin and Limerick, liked the hotel in Dubin, The Brooks, would stay there again and its pretty central when you find the intersections with Grafton Street, think its a better place to stay than The Burlington. Limerick I dont think I liked as much and dont think I’d visit it again.
Also met one of my friends from the online world, had a great time in their company. Did the tourism bit, you’d think that you’d see things when they are there but sometimes you just dont until you have someone visiting. 6 months ago
Which I’d never tried before but I’d seen on the TV lately, I can safely say that these things taste like crap and I dont know what I’m going to do with the sixteen or whatever of them which come in the pack since I’ve eaten one.
The look aesthetically pleasing enough, white meat with a red stain/colouring on the outside of them. Its just the taste, they taste like the poorest fish finger I’ve ever eaten, no real fish texture or element, more like a sort of gelatinous texture.
So, trying something new is still a good goal but its not going to produce a positive result across the board, some of the new things you try are going to be crap. 7 months ago
I tried yesterday some snack size sweet snacks from the US, a mini-baby ruth and a mini-butter finger, they were very nice but I dont think they are anything I couldnt live without either.
I liked the peanut buttery butterfinger better than the babe ruth but I think that the babe ruth tasted a lot like a snickers bar but the cheapo euro-rip offs of snickers from stores like Lidel.
This made me think about how I’ve done with confectionary since I got the diagnosis of diabetes, its not been too bad, its in the mind really. The US I would have thought would have had better snacks and choclate than it turns out it does, they have a lot of peanut butter based things which I think is great, even if I cant eat them, I remember eating them. 7 months ago
I found this bakery / cafe in the Market St Mall in San Francisco.
3 words: O M G!!!!
The food was good, I got a chicken and arugula mini baggette sandwich, and the coffee was great. The serve it in a HUGE bowl, I felt like a little kid lol. The best part was the pastries.. hence the OMG :)
I picked a few different ones to try, and each one was amazing. 7 months ago
Stilll working on this and finding it difficult, perhaps I’m not very imaginative these days, suggestions more than welcome. 7 months ago
Okay, I decided to try something *totally different.
(pucker pucker)
Gotta say, I’m not lovin it .. way too sour for me!
(love the whiskey though lol) 7 months ago
It was exhausting, a kind of cross training machine design only involving longer strides at a steeper gradiant like climbing stairs, or a sand dune actually, enjoyed it as it was real hard work but it left me with bambi legs and I had to take a minute to recover.
This goal has worked well for me so far, I’ve tried lots of equipment in my gym which I would otherwise have never bothered with. 8 months ago

I am going to attempt some of the more intricate and difficult origami challenges too. This is a great website. 8 months ago
It was good, met lots and lots of new people (twelve in all) spoke to all of them and had a lot of fun in the great outdoors enjoying sunshine and fresh air besides. Think I’ll do this again. It all ended with going for dinner too. 8 months ago
Two weights/resistance machines, one for exercising pectorial muscles and another for doing crunches, they were not difficult to use and I’ve got the good post-exercise strain feeling. Going to keep using those.
Think I will try to use some of the cardo machines I’ve not used before next time I go in, there’s a stepper and a stair climber I’ve never used yet. 8 months ago
I was thinking about how trying new sorts of food or different brands of the same food or things like that would have helped with this goal.
Not sure I can do that with the diabetes, so its going to take more creativity and thinking maybe.
I’m going to start with different gym equipment or exercise maybe. Also going to combine it with things I’ve avoided or decided not to do because I’ve been afraid too. 8 months ago
