I’ve seen a cardiologist, had a 12 lead ekg (Ironically, the morning I came right from work, where I had done about two EKGs the night before)
I didn’t like what I saw, terribly, but I’m not great at reading them. I saw pretty tall R waves, which alone can’t be taken to mean much, but with a few other things, could indicate Left Ventricular Hypertrophy (enlargening)
Given my VSD, it could very well be.
I have a stress echocardiogram to do (ugh…they run you dead on the treadmill) and then a regular echo before they will say anything.
Still, I’m glad to be getting it checked out.
Now is the time to prevent any long term damage.

if she wants to refer me, she can, but if she’s got a 12 lead EKG machine in her office, I can set up my own, and even read it…I just want to see my 12 lead and what’s going on with my heart.
I am expecting with my Septal Defect, I might have some Right sided enlargement or even failure…but maybe not. Maybe it’s so slight there’s no cardiomyopathy.
Still, it’s always good to know.

I was born with a ventricular septal defect.
A tiny hole between ventricles.
I can still hear it with my stethescope, but hey…why have I not been followed by a cardiologist?
I’m getting referred soon, by my GP, once I go see her next week, and I want to see my 12 lead EKG!
(Then the worrying begins)
:(
