I priced a bunch of stuff today!
judkins is working
How I did it: Actually, I didn't do it! During a week, I moved all sorts of stuff (rocking chair, computer desk, bags of clothes, and boxes of toys to name a few) over to my Dad's house, in preperation of a yard sale my sister was planning to have over there. Me and my kids, after moving all this "stuff", went to my Dads and priced everything. The next day, we were going ot hold the yard sale. However, we had to cancel due to rain. So a week later, duri… Read how I did it…

How I did it: Several weeks ago, I had one and made about $150, but didn't get rid of all the stuff I wanted to. This weekend I just decided I want it all GONE. So it was any 1 item free, all else 50 cents or less. I didn't care what it was. I gave away old prepaid cell phones a leather jacket, and a desk. I made about $15- $20 dollars, but saw lots of things go. Then I gathered up all the halfway decent stuff and took it to goodwill. Then I set the re… Read how I did it…
maniacmidget Carving pumpkins today!
How I did it: My mom, my sister and I went through all of our stuff and organized them into piles. Then we set prices for everything. We stayed in the range of .25 cents to 5.00 dollars. Later in the day we cut some prices to get rid of the stuff faster.Saturday morning we got out our old patio table, put a picnic cloth on the ground and set everything up. We ha d a sign set up on the main road that leads into our neighborhood and one that pointed down… Read how I did it…

Getting ready for a joint sale with my parents on September 26th. Hope to get rid of TONS of stuff!
I want to sell off a lot of my stuff, because I subscribe to the philosophy that the more stuff you have, the more stress you’re under, because you have to take care of it. It’s just a burden, a liability, to have all this junk.
I was inspired by my friend this weekend. I have alot of stuff I am not using and it is cluttering up my life. I am going to get started today with weeding through it and preparing for a yard sale. Whatever doesn’t sell I’ll take to charity.
not really, i’m doing it again because i still have way to much stuff. i’m going to yard sale as much as i can all summer and before i head to school i’ll donate whatever is left over.
tracyface is working on it all! :-)
This is the end result of this goal, but there are other steps required to make this happen, which are much more important. I have to do every single piece of laundry, even the winter stuff that I don’t wear that I always leave at the bottom of the pile. Then I have to go through everything in the house and decide what I don’t need (lots of stuff!) Those two things are more important, but having the goal of the yard sale will make sure I accomplish both of them.

I have so many things I just want gone, I am having another sale this weekend. Hopefully this will clear out a bunch and then I look into giving leftovers to goodwill.

we had one just one day, last saturday. It was a good day, we made $145 bucks and got rid of some bulkier items, like a semi broken stereo, an little used keyboard and stand, and a leather jacket. I still have boxes and boxes though, and 2 small desks and some CD racks that I really hope to sell before summer is up.

this was planned for this weekend, except I forgot it was easter weekend, I didn’t really get prepared in time, and then there were tornados friday, so, we put it off until this coming weekend. The good thing is I did price and sort almost everything, So I’ll be ready to go come next weekend.

I’ve really been cleaning things out. I’m able to get rid of a lot of things I was too atached to before, but something in me has changed. I’d like to have less stuff. So we are selling a lot, including some furniture, where I have changed things around a bit.

Margaret asks,
“My main concern right now is prices. Does anybody have some sudgestions on how to set a fair price for a yard sale item? Does anyone perhaps have default prices for specific kind of items (Books, toys, etc.)? Any help would be appreciated.”
