Worth doing!
Me and my boyfriend were walking througha park one night and it was a clear sky and we both saw a shooting star together. But because we were excited that we’d both seen it together we forgot to make a wish! :(

My bed used to be under a velux window (the angled ones), so I could stay awake at night and just watch the skies before i slept. I must’ve seen a good hundred at least back then.
And I remember one night in Crete with my mate Jez, we just lay out at the back of the villa on two sun loungers, and watched for shooting stars – he’d never seen any before. It was amazing, so clear out there. By the half-hour point, we’d already named our own constellations and ways of showing each other where to look for the ones we saw. By the two hour point we’d seen dozens. Ah, fond memories!

So of course I have seen a shooting star before. I mostly added it to these 43 things because it romantic. However I was reviewing this list with Losha Losha I will have to post to the one about water what he thought of that. Losha Losha is one of the graphics mill engineers here in russia. Anyway we went out later on in the evening and saw a poster of a shooting star. So I will close this one for now.

outside of the city away from the lights.
The best way to do this is while laying flat on your back at night(duh) while sharing it with someone just talking about, Life the Universe and Everything.(Ok I just watched the HGTTG)
Be sure to make a wish when you see the shooting star.
Try not to be fooled by planes or helicopters LOL
Many of the answers may be found here on 42..I mean 43 Things ;)

When i was about 15 i was spending the night in a farm in Devon (I think) the sky was beautiful and clear. I think i saw a dozen shooting stars that night, it was magical.

I’ve seen shooting stars at the oddest times, just because I happened to glance up at the nighttime sky. While I’m not a habitual star-gazer or astronomer, I do like to watch the sky from time to time, musing on how very small we all are in the grand scheme of the universe. Those sudden flashes that streak across the sky and extinguish themselves are oddly comforting, because they give me the impression that we may be more important as individuals than appearances may suggest.
One night I was in the middle of nowhere, miles from any artificial street lights or cities and the sky was filled with shooting stars. It is so beautiful as I am usually the one who is saying ‘where where’ after someone points one out, but there was no way I could miss it this night.

I’ve seen several over the years, but last night while walking on the beach with Dad & Jer I saw one. I made my wish, but don’t know if it was fast enough.

If you lay out on the beach, a quiet beach far away from light pollution, and just look up at the sky for a bit I bet you’ll see a few. The last time I was at the beach I saw 7 then stopped counting. Bring someone with you, its fun to share the excitement. I just saw one! Where! There! Look another!!

i go to a camp where every night you can stay up late and lie on a tarp with other campers, just gazing up at the stars. it’s an absolutely incredible experience, and i’ve seen plenty shooting stars this way. i highly recommend it!
