Yay, my frist art piece! Well, the first one that I bought, at any rate. It’s called Viletta III by Arleigh Wood and it is hanging in my kitchen this very moment.
We still have lots of blank walls though, so more art is definitely needed.
I met marco in the dorms my freshman year of college. Who knew that he would turn out to be such a fabulous artist? He gave me one of his paintings years ago, and I love it. Another friend of mine is also a painter, and he illustrates and does other design work. He’s actually a U.S. Mint artist, meaning he is part of the team that submits designs for new money! His design actually made it to one of the state coins. Very cool. I don’t own any of his work…yet. Unless I have one of his quarters!
There is a Mongolian Artist that sells and displays his work locally in DC, and he’s had exhibits in a few of the museums down here. But, I’ve got one of his butterfly paintings at my house.
I actually realized yesterday that I do already own an original work of art. I don’t know why I didn’t think of it, maybe because it was a gift. I’m not going to cross this off the list though, because I want more pieces. So my goal will just be to get another one before april.
