    WakeUpLaughing..! is feeling beautiful today

So this isn't a website... 1 week ago

...but it was interesting and it did make my night! You can change your Facebook language to Pirate! Good for a laugh.

    Free Rice

I think this is a pretty well known site, but it’s great all the same. It has kept me from quite a few papers, but this is actually a good use of time!

    Myxer

This one allows you to mix your own ringtones for you phone. I hate when I find a great song for a ringtone, but Cingular has chosen an awkward part of the song or I can think of a better part. With this, the possibilities are endless.

Blogging Explorer:The Blog Bible 2 years ago

I’m still so new to all this blogging stuff, so I can’t tell you how happy I was to come across The Blog Bible at http://probuzz.wordpress.com/

It really is a great site and I have relied on it heavily over the last two weeks as I’ve been setting up my own travel blog. It has lessened the amount of time I spend trying to post entries and has showed me the ins and outs of the blogging world.

Christmas Around The World 2 years ago

I thought this website was pretty nifty, as you can click on any country to see how Christmas is celebrated around the world. http://www.santas.net/aroundtheworld.htm

I found it particularly interesting, as my email list keeps growing and growing every year. I have friends celebrating all around the world. Just yesterday, I recieved Christmas wishes in my inbox from friends in India, Thailand, China, Turkey, Canada and the United States. Today, I heard from a friend in Argentina. This doesn’t even include all the wonderful people I’ve met here on 43things!

For me, Christmas is not about religion or gift-giving. It’s about spending time with family and friends, and spreading kindness to those around us. Where ever you are, and whether you celebrate this time of year or not, I hope you do so joyfully and with love. Happy holidays and best wishes to all of you here!

National Christmas Tree Association 2 years ago

I had every intention of adding this entry under my botany goal, as I thought it would be interesting to learn about the different kind of trees that are used during the holiday season. Then, I stumbled upon this website and quickly realised that it most definately belongs under this goal instead.

In addition to having loads of interesting and fun facts for Christmas tree lovers, it features ‘a tree of the day’ and is also organizing the donations of Christmas trees from Christmas tree growers and online donations to be shipped to U.S. troops and their families over the holidays. This website gave me warm fuzzies all over. Check it out at http://www.christmastree.org/home.cfm

This photo is from their featured trees list. It’s an Eastern Red Cedar.

RUNRGRL is trying to fix what has become broken needs to either let 43 things go or get back into it

    Intriguing 3 years ago

One night I found myself hitting road block after road block trying to write something so I started searching the internet for tips on writing. I stumbled upon this site which I found quite intriguing, although I haven’t explore it’s depths. There are collections of letters written by well known historical figures, World War II letters to and from the homefront, as well as anonymous submissions from around the Globe. One collection/link is the “Dead Letter Office” where you can share your words with the world, and say what whatever is on your mind, what you would like to share with the world if you knew you wouldn’t be here tomorrow.

One of the most amazing video's I have ever seen 3 years ago

This had me entranced, amazed, amused and baffled all the way through. Truly one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen, only wish I could have seen it live. Watch it all the way through or you will miss out!

Please help STOP child pornography on the Internet 3 years ago

    at www.lightamillioncandles.com

I was watching TV this morning and saw a commerical for an organization that is trying to stop child pornography on the Internet.

This website is an online petition to encourage politicians, governments, financial institutions, Internet service providers and law enforcement agencies to put a stop to child pornography. It only takes a few minutes to stop by their website to light a candle. They are aiming to light at least a million candles by December 31, 2006.

    Arborsculpture 3 years ago

This is an incredible website of living and functional art. Arborsculpture is the art of creating living sculptures from trees. This website features arbor sculptors from around the world as they shape and mold living trees into intricate designs, functional furniture and even houses made from ficus trees.
