So It has been four months! 2 years ago

How time flies… especially when there’s a pressure to be done and over with assigned clothes. And with the four months that passed i have experienced making patterns, cutting cloths and assembling pieces.
I never felt so good the first time i had in my hands the finished skirt that i was working on. Never mind, if i was the last one to finish it. It’s one thing i have realized about myself. my pace is not just that fast.
But am learning alot. Not just the basics of dressmaking but getting along with “different” kinds of wonderful women. It helps you keep your feet on the ground.

The Basics 3 years ago

I’ve enrolled myself in a government based program that offers classes on Basic Dressmaking. And the timing that this opportunity presented itself to me couldn’t just be ignored. finally after years of being interested, i’ve taken the first step.
and just like a kid in a new school, i find myself adjusting to many things all in the same time—the reversal of role (from a teacher to a student), the socialization with the classmates, the relationship with the teacher, and most importantly being initially stumped with what otherwise is perceived to be a very simple task, hand stitching.
Being engrossed in the uniformity of the stitches is like a quiet meditation of sort. Plus the fact that Christian Music is played in the background. The potential of this step for me is getting bigger and wider…
Although, it is still far from the promising Pattern making, it is a step nevertheless leading to the big event.
