draft a will

The comfort of knowing that I have prepared an important part of my life. To take care of an important matter so that others do not need to do it for me, to be burdened by it. At the very least, the will can be a strong and clear roadmap for those left behind.

we have kids now, so my husband and i really must get this done. hopefully by the end of this week…

Today I bought Quicken Will Maker and prepared my will and my husband’s will as well as our Healthcare Directives. Now I need to print them and have us both review them and then get them signed and notorized. Its hard to think about those things but I don’t want to be left guessing and I certainly don’t want my husband to also be left guessing. I’ll use the software to update my mom’s healthcare directive. She had it prepared over 12 years ago when I didn’t live nearby and she had my brother as her agent. But I am the one more involved in her healthcare than he is. Any way—it is progress.

Yesterday BFF’s brother-in-law died unexpectedly. I don’t want to be left without having taken care of such stuff and then try to figure it out in a state of shock.
