Earlier this year my roommate and I decided that we were spending too much money on cable television, so we dropped them. The problem was, we had no antennas on our TV’s so that we could pick up the locally broadcast channels, so we went without TV for 2 weeks. It was a great way to go cold turkey.
After those two weeks we were amazed that we no longer “missed” tv and actually enjoyed playing music instead and doing other things that didn’t invovle sitting in front of the television.
We also signed up for NetFlix and now use our TV to play Wii and watch movies!
I feel like a couch potato! The amount of time I actually spend watching tv is perfeetic…pff.
I only have two major (what I would call) “Hobbies”, watching television and working on the computer. Its the two things that I really like to do, and while I spend too much time on both, I don’t see cutting back on either.
Queen Kaz is suffering through a nasty cold :(
I have been so busy since I started full time work I just cant find the time!! Thats why Im into reading alot lately, I can take a book with me and have my down time wherever I am.(actually I’ve read 2 books this week!!)
I have enough time at night to clean out my guinea pig cages (we have 6 now) and go to bed! lately I’ve finished work at 6 (or 6.30) and fell through the door, made dinner and gone to be straight after.
I need a holliday!!
Wonderwoman1976 is moving on
I actually now realize that my husband and I haven’t even watched TV in like…3 months.
My niece came to visit and ended up staying for like a month, and then after that my mother in law came for 2 weeks, and we just don’t watch it anymore. I mean, really we watch DVDs and stuff.
That’s fun.
TV is actually more adictive in the winter time. We just love to hibernate.
