New Program

I contacted Rosetta Stone, a company that makes interactive language DVDs/CDs, a while ago about having Irish as one of their languages. They promised to tell me when a course was created for it…a year or so later, and it’s done! If you’re interested, google rosetta stone. It’s expensive, but there’s a cheaper on-line version, but it’s time sensitive. I’m getting it to entertain me over the summer!

I don’t know how long I’ve been crazy about Ireland, its language, its music and its history. Hopefully I’ll get to be fluent in Gaelic and that this will allow me to appreciate Ireland even more.

I would love to learn Gaelic soo badly! Both my parents grew up speaking it, but my Mum has told me to figure it out myself!

Slainte! (Greetings and good health to you)
I’m from Dublin, the capital of Ireland, and I speak Irish. My first language is English, which is a far more useful language, but I also speak Irish. Irish is important for students taking part in state examinations (as it’s tested as a subject) and is also in our education system. It’s also important if you are in the Government or a member of the Gardai (Police Force).
I am not fluent in Irish by any means, and I am still trying to get my head around it all, but it’s an unusual language!
Go raibh maith agat! (Thanks very much)
Slan go foill, (Bye for Now)
Daithi (David)
PS. There are no accents on these characters, as the 43Things system cannot accept them.
