Sunshinedreem has a new job, woohoo!
I went through everything and put together a pretty large bag of clothes that I offered on Freecycle.org today. Hopefully they will be picked up and completely out of my house by the end of this week.

I managed to take out another 1/2 of a plastic trash bag filled with things that were either too small or that I would never wear again. My last step will be a second round through my dresser.

That resulted in two bags to Goodwill. Actually I got rid of alot because I also purged things that I hadn’t worn in the last year or so as well as things that don’t fit anymore. I’m going to go through the closets and drawers one more time though because I want to buy new clothes and I won’t let myself do that until there is plenty of room for them!

I didn’t ever finish though. I have so many clothes from when I was a size 0, that was highschool! For whatever reason I can’t bring myself to admit I won’t ever fit into these again and get rid of them.
Done it. More or less. I’ve now got a handy pile of clothes that are far too big (that’s what the picture is) but I’ve still kept a few things behind.
Why? Just so I can compare the size I am now with what I used to be like. Which is actually quite frightening. I can’t believe I used to fit into some of the clothes I’m getting rid of, like the trousers with a waist 8” larger than my current size. But they must have fit at some point.
Ah well… I’m just glad they don’t fit any more.
I was getting some clothes together for a washing run and found a pair of trousers that are 3-4 sizes too large. It’s reminded me I need to get this done.
So I’m busy getting all my clothes washed for this weekend. Then I’ll try everything on and take anything that doesn’t fit to a charity shop.
It’ll be nice to reclaim some wardrobe space as much as anything.
I’ve started on this one by cheating a bit.
I went on holiday recently and took all the clothes that fit the worst, wore them and then threw them away and bought some new clothes that did fit. It was expensive but now I have more things that fit and less that don’t. And it meant I could avoid doing as much laundry.
Now I just have to start on all the clothes that got left behind.
I’ve recently lost about 10kg. While it’s great and I feel a lot better now I have very few clothes that actually fit.
Thinking about it, I have one pair of trousers that fits well. A few more are ok, but most of them are two sizes too large and are way too baggy.
Same goes for most of my shirts.
So I need to go through all my clothes and get rid of the ones that don’t fit.
Well, I’ve had some luck passing out clothes to people who visit me, but I’ve also insulted friends by asking them “Hey, you look like a size 14, do you want some clothes?”
I keep a box in the corner and when I find something I don’t want to wear, I toss it in the box. Perhaps I can motivate to get them out of the house before long. It would be easier if I had a car…
I went through the closet and pulled out everything that didn’t fit. Now I’m trying to balance the inconvenience of dealing with selling the clothes against the ease of just donating them.
