I got a 61 in reading, 56 in math, and 56 in writing. But I’m only a sophomore. I still think I rocked it!

I’m going to be a sophomore this upcoming year and I’m going to see if I can take it in October. Anybody have any tips for me?

I guess I did all right: I made National Merit! 2 years ago

I’m fortunate to “enjoy” standardized tests. By the time I’d taken the PSAT my junior year-the year that counts for National Merit status and scholarships-I had experience with the the format and types of questions: SAT in 7th grade through the Duke TIP program, PSAT sophomore year, lots of practice questions in school. That was enough for me without any prep courses or dozens of practice tests at home. #1 TIP: Familiarize yourself with the format (number sections, areas covered), section directions, and types of questions. You’ll be able to go into the test confident in knowing what to expect and be able immediately to start on those questions! BEST WISHES!

i was so nervous to get my score back but i did yesterday and i got 64 on math (a bummer because i’m usually good at math), 71 on writing and 80 on critical reading. this equals a score of 215 and a percentile of 99 which people tell me means i qualify for a national merit scholarship. i hope so. i studied a ton for this so i’m glad it turned out well.

99th percentile in reading and writing and 95th in math, BABY! I’m happy.
